i was just joking when i said to my friends that sony was satan itself and that he purposley made a short suply of PS3s to cause riots. two got so bad that the riot teams were called in with talcum powder and pepper bombs. i nearly passed out from laughphing when i read this story.

Aww man, I can picture the scene:

The PS3 is a day away from being released over here in the UK. I put on some warm clothes, grab a thermo flask of hot tea, and haul all of it including a folding stool to my local game store. It's near midnight and a massive line of rabbid Playstation fan-boys has formed outside the store along with their tents and various other camping equipment. I set up my stool opposite the store, waiting. Some guy walks by and warns me I'll never get a PS3 if I stay where I am. I laugh in his face and continue leering at the agitated crowd. Finally, midnight strikes and the doors of the store are opened. Suddenly, it's all kicking off. There is a hail of glass as the doors are obliterated under a tempest of swirling rage and force. The store descends into a state of rampancy as teenagers with far too much money battle mothers and fathers willing to go to war if need be to get their son a PS3. I sit in my spot quite content - big grin on my face; swigging tea - observing the madness. Fan-boys punch fan-boys, most leave in tearful misery, the rest leave with their PS3s and empty wallets. I feel happy - Playstation fan-boys in terrible emotional agony, Playstation fan-boys with horrible bloody scars, and Playstation fan-boys that'll be poor for quite some time.
I glance warmly down at the celestial white box to my right and pat the Nintendo branded product affectionately. I make note to position it snuggly beside my 360 and make plans for a joint Brawl/Halo Tournament the next day.
Life is good.

I have figured out how humanity is going to destroy itself... PS3 riots curse you sony bringing more anarchy to the sheeple of the U.S. Curse you!

It's worth about a grand of my moneys before games and whatnot. Would you walk through the city shortly after midnight carrying what may as well be a big sign that says "one grand here"? C'mon Sony fanboys, you just plonked down a thousand bucks for crying out loud. Get a bloody taxi.

As for riots and teenagers robbing the entire campout line, all I can say is... damn. Kids today.

Aha, my sister sat in line overnight and now is sitting on a 2400$ return-on-investment. That's the primary reason people want them, to sell them. xD

That's what I was thinking. Good for them if they manage to get one and that, but they deserve a crisp salute if they make it home walking.

and the selling the PS# for a large profit is the same idea one of my teacher's daughter had. buy one PS3 at a store, then sell it on the Ebay and get enought to buy every system!

Seriously people, wait for the next wave of PS3s to come out. It's not worth waiting days in line and dodging muggers unless you're flogging it on Ebay or something.

You know, all theis violence seems even more senseless to me than it did on friday, seeing that the only launch title for the PS3 that was truely worth playing was Resistance: Fall of Man, made by good ol' Insomniac.

Everything else was a piece of crap.

I wouldn't say everything is a piece of crap, in all fairness I think some of games looked fairly good (the graphics look darn sexeh at least).
I may get a PS3, if only for the RPGs and MGS4 . . . but crackers I'll wait 'til there's enough of them to warrant my life when I walk home with one.

EDIT: I'll wait 'til they're much, much cheaper, too. :-P

whats with all the nintendo/microsoft fanboys hating sony. i am a sony/nintendo/microsoft fanboy and am not afraid to make fun of the but come on you should be honoring those fanboys who actually made it out alive. they are not crazy, desperate and have no lives those guys are some dedicated hardcore [censored] for a bunch of fanboys. unless they are those rich kids parents or the rich kids themselves or retardedly dedicate fanboys they should burn in hell. you know those types the ones who would defend their company to death but in no way smart. they dont even know why they are fanboys but they would poison the masses with there retardedness. when they are argue its just a spew of diahrea and retardedness. the only good fanboys are the ones who are dedicated and not afraid to make fun of their respective company. and for the people who say sony sucks i know you would take a ps3 if some random guy gave it to you. and dont say well im just going to sell it on ebay thats just an excuse and you know it. and come on the xbox 360 and nintendo wii did not have great games at launch either. the ps3 actually have some good games like resistence of man and those other names i cant remember at launch. also nintendo sucks at online gaming, shouldnt the gamecube and the ds friend code be a reason enough to see that they are a massive failure at online play. microsoft is good but sony did one thing to smother the 360s face into the ground. the online membership is free for the ps3. how about trying to beat that price microsoft. but remember i am a fanboy of all those sytems. i am just not afraid to yell at them. i laugh at those people who get the systems early and then having to wait a long time for a steady stream of games to come out. people bug me when they say the ps3 will fail or sucks, come on can they really see the future. how can they say the ps3 sucks when you look at those graphics and see that computer power. or how can you say it sucks when it hasnt even been out yet(that was for fanboys 2 yrs before launch). some campers scare me though, i was at a target(with only 10 people its just a short line)i made eye contact with one of them and he yelled SCAAAAAAAAAA at me. another one started yelling "ps3 its is the way of the future" that girl who said that at me made me instantly hate her for some reason. probably for the fact that she was blindly dedicated. i should stop ranting now before i start a flame war.

I was in the same boat, mate. I used to be a joint PS2/Gamecube/Xbox man, it's just that Sony's recent attitude has put me right off them. "We effing rule, all other consoles suck". That attitude is not on in my books.
And yes, the launch line-up wasn't that great for any of the next-gen consoles, that's why I did what I thought was the smart thing and waited 'til some more worthwhile games came out. 360? Waited for Dead Rising, bought that and picked up the worthwhile launch titles that I'd missed (DOA4, Perfect Dark Zero, GR:AW, CoD2) - and the 360 was slightly cheaper then; bonus. I'll do the same for the Wii and I'll do the same with the PS3 (although admitedly I may have to wait longer).
And I resent you saying that the net play on the PS2 was superior simply because it was free; I've played both Live and the PS2's net play and I can comfertably say that I prefer the £40 a year Xbox Live service - better organised, better supported, held online tournaments, held online events and, if I'm perfectly honest with you, there were better online games out.
Halo 2 anyone...? Okay, okay, whining teenagers everywhere, but it's a small price to pay for such a great online game.

Do these videos look 'sexeh' to you? If they do, I think you need your eyes checked.

Aside from Resistance, the best looking launch title for the PS3 was Madden 07, which lookes and plays exactly like it does on the 360.

I am still holding out hope that the PS3's graphics will live up to all the stuff Sony said, but, so far, I'm not impressed.

If there's a point trying to struggle out of that morass of words devoid of grammar, maybe you should, y'know, make it. I resisted my instincts to just yell TLDR, and instead struggled through that block of text, and as far as I can tell, you said that you hate fanboys, and that you were one, and that you admired them. WTF, mate, WTF.
