Has anyone else read any of these? I have only actually read the first ("Fall of Reach"), but it was an excellent read, and I plan on buying the other two soon. =D

The Halo books were an excellent read for me. When I started reading them I couldn't put them down. Definately two very talented authors.

The only thing I wonder is why the second book has a different author than the first and third.

I didn't care for Halo: The Flood so much as the others, though it was interesting.

I kinda feel bad for William C. Dietz because it would have been hard for anyone to write it. I mean you have to translate what happens over the course of the game and what takes place between missions. Then you have to deal with writing the horrors of the Flood infestation.

I did think he wrote Captain Keys' death quite well.

They are gonna make more books? I heard a rumor, but, since it was a rumor, I kinda didn't pay much attention.

They certainly filled in the massive plotholes in Halo, namely being able to kill Sgt. Johnson half a dozen times throughout the game, including cutscenes and stuff....Other than that, I really enjoyed them as a light read.

I dint care for the flood. He didnt really have good connections with Nylund. For instance, he called all marines ODSTs, when infact they are only a select few special forces in the marines.

I really enjoyed reading all three of the novels, although the second one isn't as good as the other two in my opinion, mostly because it's mainly an adaptation. Don't get me wrong, it was still a well written book that filled things in a bit more than the game.

The other two books had excellent story lines and fleshed out the Halo universe quite a bit, as well as throw in some interesting tidbits. For instance, although heavily wounded, the other Spartan that MC brought on board with him on the Pillar of Autumn as they fled from Reach can kinda/sorta explain the extra Spartan for co-op gaming. Just an interesting small tidbit I just thought of. :P

Now for a foreshadowing tidbit from the book that I actually found on a couple of different sites online... Remember that artifact they found but lost to the Covenant in the third book, and how it had strange effects, particularly on time, I believe? Now look back on the final cut scene of Halo 2. K, MC's been away from Earth for a number of days after following the main Covenant cruiser to the other Halo ringworld. Supposedly, the battle on Earth had subsided. When the Chief returns on that other ship with the Covenant (I don't remember what it was called), they arrive at Earth in the middle of a heavy space battle, and the Admiral still has his dress uniform on. You'd think that after several days he'd at least would've had the chance to change into standard Naval attire. Coincidence? You decide. *insert Twilight Zone theme here*

I loved these books, how much more detail and background to the originial games are presented in them. Though of course the second one was conflicting only because I've played the game from which I could tell some huge differences. But nevertheless, it is definatly a great read and I highly recommend them to any Halo fans :o

I have seen this a few other places before and I think it was proven fake. I hope I am wrong but even so, it has been confirmed a new book is in the works. Whether this is it or not we will have another one soon.
