Everyone should pretty much now know that a Simpsons movie is coming out, well if you don't heres a... and I appear to have lost my link.

Well long story short, does this probably mean the end of the simpsons series?

Well the simpsons have been going for a very long time (Even in South Africa), I'm not sure of any exact figures though. A movie? I generally and personally find that movies about series don't live up to the reputation of their original creation.

Then again, it IS the Simpsons :P

And no, this probably won't mean the end of the Simpsons; the show itself is far too popular to just go out with a bang like that; it's much more likely just to fade away and then be cancelled.

I really doubt that the Simpsons will end after the movie. Dragonball Z had several movies and it kept going. Pokemon has as well.

I don't really like the Simpsons though.

There're two kinds of movies for a TV series...

Super Episodes and finalies. In all likely hood, it'll be a super episode... But I have to wonder what it'll be about...

Erm.. hate to burst everyone's bubble... But the Simpson's have been rumored to end in 2007, just before the Movie... Matt Groening had said that a movie made of the Simpsons would be like... the very last Simpsons thing he will do and be somthing great for the fans of the show.. no new episodes.. because he doesn't want the series to continue forever and get stale.

However... there are rumor's that later this year is a FUTURAMA Movie being released to welcome it back onto T.V.!

If the Simpsons is cancelled after the movie, several things will probably happen:
1) People will start selling the merchandise like crazy.
2) All of the series will come out in 'Gold' and 'Platinum' editions.
3) There will be eight million 'reunion' episodes/movies/things
4) CONSISTENT rumours about it's return.

So on and so forth. The Simpsons is too popular for it's own good :P

And actually, that's really not a rumor. Futurama has been given the greenlight by fox for four straight-to-dvd movies. Rumors do speculate that funding for the the movies may instead be converted to funding for a new Futurama season; but rumors are just that: rumors.
