Okay, I am having this problem for a while, it's more of an annoyance than a functionality problem. Some games I play (Like Quake 3 arena, unreal Tournament, Quake 3 force-resets the system gamma to 1.00) are as dark as turd and refuses to work with the brightness slider. I use the SiS 330 integrated graphics driver and the chipset is a SiS651C and this is the first time it happened to me. Can anyone help?

How old is your monitor? If it's around 5 to 10 years old, the filament rods may be getting weak and may need to have the monitor completely replaced. Otherwise, check the video card and what settings it supports. Otherwise, all I can say is that those games are generally quite dark and low on gamma filtration as it is.

And I also had this gamma problem once but as far as I can remember I just had to reinstall the game and drivers to get rid of it.

i had the same problem. I got a new monitor but my other graphics drive broke so i got a SiS 330 and the SiS651C and mine was crappy too. I think its either a bad product or just something wrong happened when it was made.
