Hi guys =]

I really enjoy my music (from DMX to Good Charlotte) and would like to enhance my listening experience through buying a sound card.

Here's the thing: I only have a pair of (pretty decent) headphones, so would it be worth buying a sound card?

What kind of computer do you have? Chances are you already have a sound card.

I do have a soundcard, I was just wondering whether it was possible to buy a better card, and if I could would it make a difference cause I only use headphones

Oh, in that case it probably wouldn't make much difference. From what I can tell, you have to have sharp hearing to tell the difference between sound cards. :P

The only reason you should really worry about getting a (new) soundcard for would probably be if you were playing one of the (relatively) newer release PC games, like World of Warcraft. My friend's card was a PoS and used to cause errors that required a system restart to do anything again.
Now he's got a different, older one that is terrible but doesn't crash his system.

chances are you are using an onboard card right now from what i can tell and if it does not sound bad right now, there is no need in buying a new card. if you can run what you want and it sounds good now there is not much a new card with do for you.

Depends on what you want to do:

Buying a new sound card won't make much of a diffrence in your headphones, but if you but a new one that is a "very nice one" it usiualy comes with some extras, like a full equalizer (Even though there are programs you can get for that) to some other random effects and stuff

but in all honesty, if you are only listening to music and maybe playing a basic game here and there, there is no point in buying a new one. Now if you want to record music, that is a diffrent subject.
