... ...

My idea would be a type of final fantasy song on piano. Like this one:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... al+fantasy

just an idea........... but good thing with intro but for one thing.

NO ELECTRIC GUITARS!!! OR ANYTHING TO DO WITH LINKIN PARK OR ANYTHING THATS POPULAR TO MTV. M'Kay?

There are problems with this idea.

1. People with slower connections won't enjoy having the loading time of the front page doubled, or even tripled for a song they likely won't even listen to anyway.

2. People with connections fast enough to load the song quickly might listen to the song once, but then just get progressively more annoyed when every time they come back to the front page, (INSERT SONG PLAYING). Repetitiveness is never a good thing.

3. How quickly it would leech bandwidth from the server. Well-made front pages tend to be fairly minimalistic, because the nature of being the most-viewed page means that having loads of extras there only manages to accomplish incredible amounts of bandwidth consumption (thus potentially raising costs for the owner of the site, leading to potential shut-downs of the site, etc.), for what could easily be argued to be very little benefit.

Basically-- only lame websites have music that plays when you go to it. Kinda like Animated gifs-- if the whole site is done in flash though- thats a bit different-- still, music on your homepage/frontpage/any page that plays automatically or even thats just set into the page is REALLY amateur.

This is the internet where multimedia thrives. It's a new age of comics and not the old age of the newspaper comics. It's Tom's world and if he wants to be creative, then it's his choice.

Another idea would be to create a comic page with its own musical score. As was noted above, a musical piece on the front page would slow down the folks on phone-modem connections.

As for myself...I'm taking the multimedia world of the internet and having fun with it. I live in the present, plan for the future and remember the past.

While it's a good idea...people do still run in archaic dial-up connections. It wouldn't be practical. :?

But I would like a nice piano theme. Personally...the piano tune from 100 years would be wonderfull.
