ok, for the past 2 days ive been getting a load of pop-ups, so i did a scan. over 60 confirmed spywares confirmed, with over 200(!!!) traces!!!! so i removed and quarintined. today, still happening. i need a free, effective pop-up blocker to help me get rid of this, since i can get rid of the spyware. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I use Ad-Aware 6.0, and its free, and it really helps too

The two best spyware programs I know of are Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy. Most likely, a simple pop-up blocker would not solve your problem at this point, but running mutiple spyware programs might. In the future, I suggest running a spyware scan once every week.

I have also found that Microsoft AntiSpyware, is also quite an effective program. And of course, its free.

Yahoo has a pop-up blocker, but it is a pain in the butt to remove and alows yahoo related pop-ups

Firefox + AdBlockPlus + Filterset.G (and a Linux distribution of choice as OS) and you are done.
