Erik's esponse to both attacks was to dodge to the side and slightly to the back, moving in a circle around Daniel. He maintained his defensive stance, waiting for Daniel's next move.

"Hmm." Daniel said, going and picking up the dagger from where it had hit the ground point first, making sure not to take his eyes off Erik. "and this is why I don't use strength enhancement much." he muttered, looking as the tip of the dagger broke off as he picked it up, leaving about 4 out of the 6 inches left connected to the hilt. He took an offensive stance, and the demonic energy that had been arcing along his arm was absorbed into it. "Ok, try this." he said, and afer a few seconds of letting the power change and adjust, started an onslaught of slashes from the broken dagger and stabs from the blade, watching Eriks movements to avoid walking into a trap, but not letting him gain any ground either.

(2 things: one, as you might have noticed, Daniel went back to a speed-type. and two, you can't really draw him into a corner since he's watching your movements a lot more closely now.)

((How the heck would Erik back Daniel into a corner? Erik's the one with the barrier at his back, getting stuck in a corner is something he has to worry about avoiding.))

Erik continued to dodge by going around Daniel and slightly back, forcing Daniel to keep moving to close with him. Eventually Erik wound up with his back practically against the electrical barrier surrounding the 'island'. He glanced back for an instant and a look of 'Oh crap' spread across his face.

(I dunno, circling around Daniel so until their positions were switched (Daniel backed against the wall, as the phrase may be, or parry the strike to knock him off-balance into the wall, etc.) Plenty of ways to throw up a defensive, even in the position you're in right now.)

When he saw Erik's back practically to the barrier he himself had created, he wondered for a second if it was a trick, but dismissed the thought and slashed at the kid along the chest just to confirm if this was a feint or not.

Erik blocked as Daniel swung at him. The blow pushed him back enough that he could begin to feel the ionized air around the wall on his back. There was the smell of singed cloth coming from the edge of his coat where it brushed the barrier. Thank God cloth doesn't conduct electricity. He scooted forward slightly and seemed to be trying to keep his attention both on the wall and his opponent at the same time, and was having trouble doing so.
