why is necro posting so bad? if something like that red haired thing comes up again, and again and again, it would become annoying. i know from the 15 threads made by n00bs who cant register for a single game, and dont bother looking for answers in threads related to their topics. anyways, why not just repost in the same thread that was already made like months ago? also, yea tis dead, but if u bring it back, it might get ppl back into it. and arent forums supposed to be acitve? well, yea, theres me stupid question aka complaint IN DISGUISE. I DONT WANNA BE IN THE SOUP >_< unless, its REALLY tasty soup. then ill jump in with no hesitation and start eating me heart out. or slurping, depending on the contents of the soup. ^_^

I don't think necroposting is bad when you post something of relevance. Just going into a thread and replying with a "Yeah" or a smiley or something is just useless.

Threads die for a reason- and its nice that when a Topic becomes reopened for discussion you can bring an old thread back- but bringing one back for no reason whatsoever is just spamming- also once you do that you have a bunch of other people thinking- "Oh! A new topic!" and they start posting there-- The thread was dead for a reason-- the Topic doesnt need to be discussed anymore! Granted the Mods could go in and set every dead topic to being locked many people think that a locked topic is that way because someone did something wrong- also its a waste of time-- we just asume people wont be idiots and bring back dead topics.

Most forums I went to called it "bumping" a thread... necroposting sounds so much better.

I'll probaly keep posting in my own *cough* "art" *cough* thread,even if it's been a long time.

There is a difference between bumping and necroposting. With bumping a person 'bumps' their thread to the top of the forum. That's not really necessary here as we do not have a lot of people on this forum.

Necroposting is bested defined as posting with the sheer purpose of taking a really old topic to the top with no real care for it. So if someone who never posted on the topic bumps it, that's when your necroposting.

But like they said, some topics should be brought back. After all, some people might have very good points to add and the rejection of their worth while opinion is wrong. So, please, don't go about and bring back every last dead topic you can just for the heck of it, have some really good reason to. I don't mean flood material, heck I don't even mean for you to have posts after yours. Just make sure you do it for the right reason. No one likes going through 2 pages of posts from 2 months ago just to find the ones that were made yesterday.

Oh yeah, just for the heck of it, You can't necropost when a topic is at the top of the list... No matter how old it is.
