I'm having some trouble piecing together the timeline of Two Kinds. Here Trace tells Saria that a month has passed since he met Flora. Two days later Flora is possessed by Ephemural and the day after that Trace and co. sets out for the port city, expecting to be there the following morning.
They must have miss-calculated the travel time however, as they are here next morning. The remainder of that day is spent fighting Zen, Natani and various dragons. Lady Nora then carries Trace and furries almost all the way to the port city, as seen here. We also see a sun either setting or rising. As the party enters the city it is dark however, so the sun must have been setting, indicating that it is still evening of the same day all the fighting took place. The next morning our friends board the Na'Rella. (Incidently, if my calculations are correct, this also makes it impossible for the nausea Flora is experiencing in this scene to be morning sickness, as fertilization could have occured at most 30-40 hours earlier.)
Two weeks later Trace claimes that he and Flora met six months ago.
This math doesn't work for me. I must be missing a whole bunch of months somewhere, but for the life of me, I can't figure out where.

Man... Just go with it... It confuses me too. Just focus on how big Kat's boobs are.

Maybe Keidran have different fertilization times.

Also: If we must, we can put several days in between the Trace-and-co vs. Magi Brothers fight and Trace-and-the-gang's arrival to town. They were all put to sleep by Nora, so it very easily could have been quite a lot of time.

Additionally, Flora's not officially pregnant. So take Spike's advice and stop worrying.

Right...I'll admit "don't worry about it" wasn't the answer I was hoping for, but you're the Templar and I'm the newbie, so I concede the point.

I am aware that Flora isn't officially pregnant, but I have seen her nausea aboard the Na'Rella being used as an argument for her being pregnant, so I though I would add my two cents.

I admit, I don't like "Don't worry" either, but it's all I can come up with. To my estimation, they have known each other for about 4 months. This leaves about 2 months unaccounted for. The reason I wonder is, if they have known each other for 6 months, Flora would have gone into heat at least 2 times. However, if she IS indeed pregnant, that would account for it. It doesn't perfectly add up to hte amount of time implied, but it's close enough, so...

Well one explanation is "personal alteration". That is either he (Trace) remembers it wrong somewhere, or he is purposefully lying or even a third possibility is innocent exaggeration. If you separate 2 people who experienced the same thing and ask them what happened and when, the stories will be different; and if you ask anyone how big the fish he caught was it gets bigger every single time he tells the story. So taking Trace at his word does have the very real possibility to lead to different numbers eventually.

Another explanation is just that it had been so long between the comics the artist forgot what was originally said, but that's less fun so it's easier just to assume what I said before or not worry about it. Just some thoughts :D

I changed it. Now, in the first comic linked, Trace says a few months instead of one month. It should work better now.

Huh, I guess I never noticed there was any glitch. I measure time in webcomics, not your freaky Earth-years.
