So, am I the only one that plays scary games in pitch black? Well I've finished the last of my favorite scary FPS games... and I was wondering if any of you knew any other scary games.

I've beaten all the Silent hills, Dooms, Even FEAR (Waiting on Project Origin), and I've been working on Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth Which has to be my favorite scary game so far. I also own painkiller and Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

I don't have any current GEN consoles, just my uber PC and a PS2.

So does anyone have any recommendations?

My brother is playing F.E.A.R in the dark
I sometimes watch.

And once he played Eternal Darkness in the dark too.

I'm too much of a wuss.
I didn't get too far into STALKER before getting creeped out by the mutants(especailly after goign through the sewer) and I once played Condemned 1, got past the forensics part, then got so scared I quit the game and never played it again cause of the dark room, and the radio saying someone was coming.

I didn't mind F.E.A.R., the one that used to get me was the Alien vs. Predator series playing as the marine...soooo many moments where you're stuck in dark areas without any flares, low flashlight battery, and have a scanner showing targets all over. Still one of my favorites.

I didn't like STALKER that much. Granted I've only gotten just past the beginning, I mean... at the point I'm at I'm so frustrated because I'm trying to snipe with a pistol. I mean come on!

I ONLY play Eternal Darkness in the dark. I love that game so.
You know the screen that shows up when you load? The skeletons, the creepy background sounds, and it says "The Darkness comes?"

My friend was playing and the power went out RIGHT as it said that. Scared the crap out of him. I wish I could have been there, but I'd be just as scared as he was.

Blowouts are scarier, but they're only in the Oblivion Lost mod. D:

Its really hard to start out in, but once you get a few guns, it picks up momentum quickly. You'll learn to love it. It sounds like you're only at the bandit camp in the first mission. Hardest part in the game because you only have that crappy piece of crap pistol.
As for ps2 horror games, I've heard that Fatal Frame is really scary.

I just let my teammates take care of a few, I picked up a shotgun and some ammo, and then shot a few as well.

My teammates always died out in a matter of seconds, leaving me to kill at least 25% of them. Except once, when they all survived. That time I left to camp for about 1.5 minutes after it was cleared, came back, and they were all dead, including the guy with the flash drive I needed. Apparently 3 stalkers were killed by a single wildcat mutant.

That stupid camp took me about 10 tries. I'm at Yantar now. Its a dried lake/marsh infested with zombies. Snorks and bloodsuckers scare the crap out of me.

i recommend playing the suffering games for PS2. the first time playing it will give you nightmares if you aren't used to it, and it's really hard at some points in the game.

Do what i did, plat the first fatal frame in pitch dark.
Points to ya if you make 5 minutes without turning the lights on.
The expansion for FEAR,FEAR files,is actually ALOT scarier then the original game.

I'm outside that sewer where you get some guy's stash.
Where do I go next?
I just got out of the sewer.

I skipped the sewers the first time I went through, but I started over after getting Oblivion Lost, and this time I decided to go through. Oh my god, the sewers were intense. Especially with that bloodsucker and controller. But anyways, the sewers let out in the agroprom (sp) research facility, which is the facility that has that case you have to steal for the mission. I didn't have to much trouble getting to it. (HINT: The building with the case in it has a back entrance; you can crawl through a window and avoid being detected)

Half-Life 2 in Ravenholm, playing through the first time and in the dark, it was awesome. At first, the zombies keep on popping out of nowhere made me go like "HOLY CRAP WHEN DID THAT GET THERE", then as I realized how slow and pitiful those zombies were, fast zombie howls started sounding out. |D

And if you're playing STALKER, don't ever do side quests. You never need money. D:
