Holy wow, that was beyond epic. If you missed the DNC speech tonight, you missed something big. YouTube it, get it from somewhere, that was the stuff of legends.

The fact that he actually said that he was tired of big elections being decided on small issues, that nearly reflects everything we've been saying in the forums. Good God that was a perfect speech.

Did anybody else see the whole thing? He's got my parents debating whether or not to vote for him now, and they're die-hard Bush fans.

he made a big mistake... he had the chance to make an amazing speech... something for the history books.... but instead he did a typical speech... honsetly if he would have made a speech like the "I have a dream" speech, I would have respeccted him more.

I've heard nothing but good things...well except from a remote few instances...about Obama's speech, I'll definitely be looking for it. Kinda zoned out and missed it, wishing I hadn't.

You watched the speech, right? What was "typical" about it? Whereas other candidates in prior elections have spent their entire time on stage blasting the other side for being on the other side, Obama actually complimented McCain, made no personal jabs at his character or patriotism, and encouraged voters to do what they thought was right. Yeah, he's a politician, but come on, show me a politician who has pulled off a speech that flawlessly and stirring other than John F. Kennedy or Martin Luther King Jr.? That is absolutely on the same level, if not higher, than Bush Sr.'s "Thousand Points of Light" speech.

Come on, you sound like you're against him for the sake of being against him. Throw some substance into your argument.

http://consumerist.com/5043337/obamas-p ... -consumers << That's all I know about his speech. Which all sounds nice, but it's still not enough for me to vote for him. Meh.

I watched it with my mother and it's funny how around here most people think just because he's black we should vote for him. No not the case. I'm black...so? It's not skin color it's about him as a leader right?

Than how come everytime he speaks he's compared to Martain Luther King and Malcom X<---[seriouly why?] and others.

Look at him as his own man, with his own dreams and reasons. I almost cried during his speech for I surely think it was a homerun, It was just epic!

He's not ready? That's like saying Bush isn't a cancer on this country. It's just not true. I fully support the Obama Camp and am sure of victory in November. Do not look at him for what he is but who he is.

It's a dream come true.

"who he is not what he is"
did I say anything about him being black?

ONE PART really made me kind of angry....
when he said it was bush's fault and the governments fault that things went so badly durring katrina... NO the residents of N.O. were looting the place and shooting at helicopters carrying injured citizens... sooo... yeah.. its ALL the governments fault... especially since FEMA was in charge... lets all blame bush and the government as a whole...
I admit.. bush did suck... obama would be better.. but that was the 1 part that really stuck out.
