Okay, so i recently got my magazine for the august edition of PC Magazine and i eagerly devoured the whole thing. About thirty pages in i get to their call of duty: world at war section, a game which I, against my previous statements might actually buy, because i mean heck, It's a good series anyway, and i should support them even if i disapprove of their choice to go back to WW2. Now, I start reading and as I read on I see that they talk heavily about how they are using the cod4 engine, something i fully support, as it may make call of duty 5 a more enjoyable game to play, and how they are making the multiplay levels more sniper friendly than in four, something i also encourage, as well as making the online benefit the people who truly take the skill into factor instead of just mindlessly spamming grenades and then spraying anything that moves..AWESOME.. and the singleplayer is supposed to have better AI with better weapons and tactics, plus your fighting the Japanese now, so I am certainly looking forward to the singleplayer..except this wouldn't be my normal rant if I didn't point out something they mentioned that didn't completely baffle me and make me want to slap someone so without further ado, I will begin the thing i think is stupid about this game..so far.
Okay, another thing i saw mentioned in the section a lot was how impressive the graphics were supposed to be, and how on a high resolution it would look fantastic. And i quote "We've gotten deep into the engine and made some enhancements so that the game runs faster and better on multiple processors." What the [censored] people. Now, my computer (well the one i use for games anyway, I have like five of the damned things, but only one for games) can run games at decent things, Cod4 runs great online at 1080x780 which is decent, and without lag, and i run tf2 on 800x600, not great but i can have a lot of advance things fully activated, so it looks moderate. However I get the impression that what they want to do with cod5 is essentially make a better looking Crysis, a game that is quite beautiful, if you can in fact get it to run on a mid to high resolution, which requires quite the equipment. Now, there is nothing wrong with wanting a graphically impressing game, however i the whole making better and faster with better equipment seems like they are trying to make it so that the people with the most equipment on their PC will do the best in online, which cancels out what they want to do with the new multiplay maps.
Okay, so yeah i know that many games are like this, however i thought that they did well in making that not true for modern warfare's online. Surely it had some effect, there is no way to make that completely unimportant in a game, however they did the best job they possibly could, and it seems to me that cod5 wants to go the OPPOSITE direction. I mean it would suck if they did that, very very much, and I might not play the game online because of it if they do, but it has yet to come out so we'll see.
No matter what i hope to enjoy the singleplayer, and the if the multiplayer on cod5 sucks, i still have cod4 to play, something that will always be my crackcocaine, ( see my rant on cod4 for my complete opinions.) but i hope that it can pull itself out of the ditch i currently see it in, if not, i still support the Cod series, and i urge you all to do the same, because while you do get crap like cod3 every once in a while, you wind up with amazing games like Cod2 and Cod4, while made by different people they are the same brand, and i hope that by supporting them, even if it means buying a game that i might not like as much as the others, I might get another great game out of it...and besides, people buy games they don't like a couple of times a year, and they ussually end up at a friends house, or back at the game store, so here is my question...
Do YOU support the series?
Now that I'm done with that rant lets get back to normal me
FASTCHAPTER GIVE ME BACK MY GODDAMNED TESTICLES.
