Yeah, hey I'm Extorio, commonly known as Ex (Damn 3 or more characters per username rule!!!) I'm new to this forum but I like RPing so I thought it would be good to join.

A friend of mine who isn't on this forum and I are mid-way through creating a Final Fantasy based RP. The world will be kinda original. The cities and such are home made but it is based in a medievel type Ivalice (FF12 FF Tactics Advance/A2). The RP isn't under any control apart from, you can only be a Summoner on request and depending how many people i can get, being enemy will either be a no no or also on request.

Okay, story. In an Eastern part of Ivalice is a county named Y'chiot. Y'chiot is a barren wasteland full of monsters, demons etc. Spread across the wasteland are small but well fortified citiess and the Dark Knights Tower/Fortress (Similar to the tower of Isengard). Our bad guy is the leader of that tower and the commander of the Dark Knight Order/army.

Pretty much, get your characters stronger than him and his 5 corrupt judges.

Free Classes Characters can have two of these or one restricted class

Dragoon:- The user of this class usually uses Lances or Spears and excels in speed and mobolity rather than strength. They tend to use lunge, jump and breath abilities rather than actual magic

White Mage:- People of this class excel in Light based magic, using the light aura to heal others. However, they can use light magic to vanquish evil beings in offensive spells such as Shining Spear and other such magic. As close combat weapons, white mages use staves or daggers

Black Mage:- The black mage uses the five types of elements to attack and poison their opponents. They are hopeless in close combat but from far off a powerful black mage could destroy an army. Black mages are usually seen with staves or short swords

Warrior:- The basic footsoldier of any army. The warrior uses swords for battle and has little understanding of magic and rarely uses it. They are however well organised and are commonly quite intelligent allowing them to think on their feet. They can use enchanted weapons and are quite useful at using weapon techniques like the Dragoon

Gunmage:- This class uses guns ranging from pistols to single shot assault rifles. The bullets they fire are Xeno crystals or X crystals. These crystals contain magical properties and are extremely damaging to monsters. The crystals can be infused with elements and therefore increasing its effectivness but also lowering it at the same time.

Thief:- This class are rouges and are wanted criminals or just petty street thieves. Their physical attack is averaged but their speed is amazing, allowing them to attack their enemies and steal from them all in one go!

Archer:- Archer's use bows and short swords for closs encounters and if left alone long enough can use their abilities to get a pinpoint shot on a persons vital point. They tend to use bow skills such as blind and immobilize or corner

Restriced Classes You can only have one of these or two of the Free classes

Paladin:- Paladins are masters of swordmanship and white magic. They can heal their comrades while at the same time protect themselves from incoming attack.

Ranger:- Rangers use swords and bows and are masters in both. They can take out long ranged targets and when close combat calls they can kill their opponents with ease.

Dark Mage:- Dark mages are not bound by Black Mage laws and use illegeal black magic like Demi and Flare. They are also quite skilled in weapon combat, allowing them to combine the two to create a very powerful unit

Summoner:- The summoners are very rare and only a few of them exist. However, they are one of the most useful units on the battlefield. They are able to summon animal or even demon familiars to aid them in battle and their technique with a blade isn't too bad either

Necromancer:- Necromancers are looked down upon by society and are only used in the dark knight army. They revive dead bodies to fight for them, a cowardly thing to do. However, do not take them lightly, they have anticipated that some enemies will get close so therefore they train themselves to be good enough using a weapon until their dead comrades can give them a hand

Red Mage:- The red mage combines the skills of Black mage, white mage and warrior into one but isn't very good at any of them, therefore they are sent in as specialised troops, only when the time commands it

Assassin:- Assassins are also specialised troops, combining bow and dagger, making them extremely good at their job. Some would also refer to them as Ninja, they glide through the night, invisible to the human eye, delivering their employers wish to anybody they get paid to eliminate

Dark Knight:- The dark knights are the main core of the East's army. The dark knights are powerful in many ways, they have extreme skills with weapons and dark magic but their armour restricts movement. These troops are very deadly, sacrificing their own well being for more and more power

Nice question, i knew I'd missed something out.

I'm usually quite fond of points systems but in this one I thought I'd scrap it.

All characters unless requested will start out at their first year of the Gallerian Magic Academy. Don't be fooled it also teaches students how to fight with swords, lances etc...so we will all start out at roughly the same kind of power level but as I said i decided to scrap a points system because in an RP like this I believe that it could ruin potential storyline.

Hope that clears it up, if you have anymore questions, please ask

I may join this but I'll wait until others start posting characters so as not to waste time. Plus I have a LOT of school work to do right now.

OOoooOOooo~~~

Based on Final Fantasy Tactics Advance... Which are the only FF games I've ever completed. XD (logged over 400 hours (combined...) on both of the Handheld ones)

I AM SO IN!

But... I will need some explanation on anything related to FF 12, as the system was too tedious, being the whole point was to get to the point where you didn't have to actually PLAY anymore. I never got past the third dungeon...

But yeah, some explanation on some of the things would be nice.

Here's a character sheet filled in with everything I understand:

Your Name: Real name? Tony (NO LAST NAME FOR YOU!)
User Name: ...If you can't read, I'm not RPing with you...

Character Name: As I'll have to edit this later, I'll fill in everything related to the actual character later.
Character Age:
Character Class: Dragoon
Character sub-class: Warrior (Might switch to black mage, but I doubt it.)
Character Personality:
Character History:
Character Weakness':
Character Strengths:

Character Race: Bangaa
Character Element:
Character Magic Type:
Character Weapon: Lance (duh)
Character Abilities: Jump, breath, good with his "lance" (Giggidy giggidy)
Character Allignment:
Character Limit Break:

... >_>

I'll fill in the info about the actual person later (when I actually have the energy, and some inspiration hits me), and the other stuff that I don't quite get what you want after you explain it.

Sounds like fun! But... Just to warn anyone else... If I actually join this one, Chasing Storms goes bye bye. Never quite roped me in...

OK, I've actually played the games but for those that haven't is there any chance of you providing details about each race.
I would but I'm lazy and will probably get some mixed up.

Never touched a FF game in my life, not cause i think their bad but RPG's don't sit too well with me. I'll be on the sideline though you do have a nice idea for an RP.

First things first, Semper Fi-Hell Hound, I like you cos you like Wolves :D~ lol.

Yeah here are the brief descriptions of the five races in this RP:

Hume
Humes are the most common race Ivalice, they have no particular special abilities and compared to other races they have a relatively short life span. However, they are the dominant political force in Ivalice, particularly through the Empire.

Bangaa
The Bangaa are to be found all over Ivalice, especially where there are Humes in power, as many of them can gain employment as bounty hunters. The Bangaa can live almost twice as long as a Hume. They are lizard-like in appearance, but are mortally offended when told so.

Viera
The Viera live in the Golmore Jungle, in almost complete seclusion from other races. However, the on-set of war caused many of them to question their way of life. Many decided to break the Green Word; which forbids any contact with the outside world. From then on they are treated as outcasts, and lose their extraordinary ability to communicate with the wood. Viera also have incredible longevity.

Noumu
A quiet and peaceful race, the Nu Mou specializes in magic. They are excellent in battle, casting magic from afar. They have long noses and floppy ears. They also fit the genre of wise old man perfectly.

Moogle
The Moogles, famous for their white fur and colored pom-pom's, are a friendly fun-loving race that are to be found all over Ivalice. They are frequently a great help to adventurers, offering teleportation and transport.

I would've put pictures down but I'm tired...

Ahh, sorry about that Optix, I haven't had a computer for like 3 days lol. Yeah, I should of put this up earlier.

3 forms of magic.

Symbol, Sacrifice and Chant

Symbol:- Pretty obvious, before battle, the mage draws a symbol and then when it is needed they use their mind to use one of the elements in form of a spell.
Sacrifice:- Also quite obvious. The mage sacrifices something e.g. Blood, limb, other beings to summon forth monsters, other people or animals, weapons.
Chant:- This form of magic specializes in using external items as defence or status magic.

Symbol (more detail)

Symbol magic is as I said above when the mage draws a symbol to utmost perfection on their body or on a scroll. When the mage thinks it in their mind or when used with chant magic, they chant the words, elemental magic from the earth is drawn into their bodies and fired from the point of the symbol. However if the mage places the symbol on their body on the another object the magic can come from any other point that is touching the symbol.
Example.
A mage has come to a point in battle that they wish to use a fire spell. They pull out a quill and ink and draw a symbol on their palm. They then believe in the power of fire and fire erupts from the symbol i.e. the palm and is fired at the opponent or target. However, lets say the mage wishes to use a earth spell. They draw the symbol on their palm again and then place their palm on the ground. A cylinder of earth erupts from the ground underneath their opponent or the target.

Elements

There are five main elements in this circle Fire > Wind > Earth > Lightning > Water, and then it goes around again. The direction of the arrow mean that the element before it is stronger e.g. Earth is stronger than Lightning. The effectivness of the spell against an elemental mage is also the same.
Example.
If somebody used an Earth spell against a Lightning mage its effectiveness would be 1.5, but if a mage used an earth spell against a wind mage the effectivness would be 0.5 and if a mage used an earth spell against a fire, water or earth mage then the effectivness would be 1.

There are also three other 'elements' named Shadow, Light and Spirit. Shadow and Light are stronger than the other.
Example.
If a mage used a shadow spell against a Light mage, the effectivness would be 1.5. If a light spell was used against a light mage the effectivness would be 0.5. If a shadow spell was used against a shadow mage than the effectivness would be 0.5. If you used a light spell against a shadow mage then the effectivenss would be 1.5. Also shadow and light spells have an effectivness of 1 if used againts any other mage.

Spirit magic has no advantages or disadvantages. The damage it deals is always 1 and the damage a spirit mage recieves is 1.

Sacrifice magic

Sacrifice magic is pretty much ritual magic. The cost of the sacrifice is greater depending on the thing you are summoning. E.g. if you are summoning a badly made sword the sacrifice would be a couple of drops of blood. If you were summoning a demon lord then the sacrifice would be a fair few of human lives.

Chant Magic

Chant magic is used to reduce the cost of the above types of spells.
Chant magic can also be used for status and defensive magic e.g. barriers

Magic Mediums.

Magic mediums can range from magic crystals, ancient tomes and books, scrolls. Magic crystals are used for all three types of magic. Books are used only for sacrifice and scrolls are only used for symbol

Familiars

Mages who excel in Sacrifice are known as Summoners and these summoners, depending on their power level can summon different kinds and different types of familars to aid them in battle. They only have to offer the sacrifice the first time.

Your Magic Type is the type of magic you are best at out of the Ritual, Symbol and Chant.

Symbol Magic

This is given to all Classes:
A small fireball is shot from the point of the symbol=The symbol is a flicker of flame.
The ground rises from the floor, maximum of 3 metres in height=The symbol is of two rocks, one behind the other, the symbol must then be placed on the floor.
A funnel of water flies at the opponent=3 wavy lines above one another.
A gust of wind blows at the opponent=The symbol is a cloud and the wind fires from the point of the symbol.
The users hand glows blue and the targets minor wounds e.g. Bruises, small cuts, if used long enough, even deep cuts=The user draws a leaf and places the symbol against the wound.

Black Mage:
Improvments of all the others. The fire is more intense, the wind can blow people and animals away, the earth can raise to about 20 metres etc.
I'm lazy so I'm going to leave the rest up to your imagination, however, the magic I put down next which is for Dark Mage, is exclusive to dark mage.

Dark Mage:
Flare=Non-elemental, fire looking blast. No symbol required.
Rai=A large lightning bolt strikes the ground. No symbol required.
Demi=The target is engulfed by a black sphere. The longer the target spend in the sphere, the weaker they get. No symbol required.
Ultima=Non-elemental, green cannon like blast. No symbol required.

Possible Limit Break: Apocolypse=The target is surrounded by a large amount of ethereal swords and are attacked from all directions.

White Mage=I think you can all think about this. But there isn't like five second healing when the guys been stabbed in the chest etc.

For your limit break, It has to be a single attack or combo, It is allowed to auto hit but not auto kill.
Example: Your character gains immense speed and time appears to stop. They attack the opponent and stab him/her in the chest. For the sake of it being fair, your character for some reason doesn't deliver the final blow but by a strange coincidence they miss his/her heart.

Your Name: Ross Wild
User Name: ...\-ex-/...

Character Name: Kenta
Character Age: 14
Character Class: Monk
Character sub-class: Gun Mage
Character Appearence: Kenta wears a black cloth that covers his face and ties at the back of his head. His clothing consists of a baggy cotton v-neck t-shirt and fingerless white gloves and he mostly wears baggy combat pants and black zipped boots.
Character Personality: Kenta shows no emotion and rarely speaks. He doesn't exactly act cold to others but because his voice lacks emotion, even when he is congratulating somebody it is confused as an insult.
Character History: Kenta was left on the Gallerian Magic Academy doorstep at the age of three. When they discovered him he had do ears. He spent all his life at GaMA and has gotten to know all the teachers and mentors there.
Character Weakness': His lack of emotion causes him to not think about a situation logically.
Character Strengths: His lack of emotion allows him to kill without any hesitation and he also follows orders to the letter.

Character Race: Viera
Character Element: Light
Character Magic Type: Chant
Character Weapon: A silver chain is around his neck and it has a small mallet shaped pendant with the same design engraved onto the pendant. If Kenta causes his blood to fill that groove and he says the word "Come" his weapon will appear in his right hand. His actual weapon is an overly sized enchanted Mallet. The shaft is roughly 1 story long and the head, from flat end to flat end is roughly half a storey (Sorry but I'm not good with measurements.) The Mallet is enchanted that if Kenta is the one holding it, it weighs nothing, but if another tries lifting it, it changes its weight to more than the person can carry. Kenta also carries two pistols for mid-long ranged combat.
Character Abilities: None, yet...
Character Allignment: Neutral, for now...
Character Limit Break: Not obtained.

Your Name: Ross Wild
User Name: ...\-ex-/...

Character Name: Ryozo
Character Age: 18
Character Class: Unknown
Character sub-class: None
Character Appearence: Ryozo has a plain black cotton top with a v-neck and strings that are usually not tied. His black baggy pants are a form of cotton aswell. His black boots are plain and weared but he doesn't waste money on new clothes. He has long, shoulder-lenght black hair.
Character Personality: Ryozo is an extremely cold person. He will act nice to others to make them help him and then either abonden them or kill them, which ever he feels nescassary. Ryozo is the 'boy' from the prolouge and it is not even certain that Ryozo is his real name. His life now consists of tracking Judge Kane, who he will never cease hunting until one of them dies. Ryozo had no childhood and as such he doesn't know how to handle social experiences and conversations. He prefers to live in the open with his trusty sidekick Wolf.
Character History: As said in the prolouge, Ryozo had his entire village killed and destroyed by the seemingly ageless Judge Kane. There is no interest in his life after that unless you wish to hear of 13 years worth of tracking accounts.
Character Weakness': Ryozo's cold front gets him into a lot of trouble. His rage at Kane tends to side track him. His lack of teamwork. His weapon, it gives him one swing and if he misses he is left wide open. He does this on purpose to attone for his sins.
Character Strengths: His talent and abilities. His keen eye.

Character Race: Hume
Character Element: Water/Ice
Character Magic Type: Symbol
Character Weapon: He originally used a longsword that belonged to Kane but he replaced it with a huge Zweihander (blame Soul Calibar 4). This sword is beautifully designed with flame designs running down the blade, clashing with his natural element.
Character Abilities: None, his raw talent is enough.
Character Allignment: Neutral, although it drifts to the side of Evil.
Character Limit Break: Unknown

Hmm....I'm wondering, wouldn't a summoner's limit break be summoning a beast? I wanna know because if I join, I'd like to be a summoner.....Also, what can you summon (is there a list of beasts, or just imagination? ^_^), or is there a limit as long as it's not insta-kill (like knights of the round in ff7, or final summon in ff10)

bah. A real summoner just does puts the bad guy wherever they keep all of their summons and has all of them attack at once FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE. Pantheon, it's called.

For summoners, you have an animal familiar that is always with you and you have a mental connection with it. That is to help you fight of minor monsters that aren't worth your summons time lol.

For summons, you can have anything you want but I'd prefer if it was a beast/demon/mythological creature. If you could, would you not use stuff like Shiva and Ramuh.

A good example was, a mate of mine had a Dragon as his final achieved and his most powerful. His first one was a Scorpion about the size of house floor. And then he had a demonic shark i.e it had about 6, red eyes and such. So yeah, also if you wouldn't say like, I have three dragons or something then pretty much anything else is fine, however, if I do deem something abit OTT it may need to be tweaked.

And the summons don't just come, fire and energy blast and leave. They fight along side the summoner until they are dismissed or killed but for fairness, after a large or difficult battle would any summoners mind dismissing their summon. Thank You.

Possible Summoner limit break=Grand summon, you summon all of the creatures you have (max creatures summoners get is three, not including animal familiar). They all do an uber attack, then one of them stays with you and fights like normal.
