I just got back from my teams scrimage. My teams gotten pretty good lately, we went from a 5-5 season 2 years ago to a 11-2 season last year, and we have an even better team this year. We were getting our first real action in a scrimage against a school that's not to good. We held nothing back, we were tired of hitting our teammates and we were teeing off on people. If they had kept a score we would have had 90 if not 100+ points, the other team scored once on our second defense.

One of our guys #55 tried to help one of their guys up, #32, and #32 push #55, that is where we knew they were mad. Then when we got on offense it happened, #64 on my team blocked #60 on their team. #60 then proceded to grab my teammates facemask and tried to pull my teammate to the ground, so my teammate did what he should have done and blocked the guy again to knock #60 off, Then #60 started punching so my teammate punched back. That lead to #32 on their team to started a fight with my teammate #50, I haven't gotten to much detail on that fight yet. Then One of their guys, I'm not sure the number pushed #71 on my team. My teammate pushed back, and it led to punching, luckily for the other team, the ref's broke it up their and my choach talk the ref into not suspending any of my teammates.

I know there was more that went down, but i didn't get to see any of it, so after we watch film tomorrow i will tell more. If you want do know any thing more detailed on the first and last fight i wrote about other then names i will explain if you ask.

Discuss football fights, your own similar personal experiences that are similar, and this situation in particular.
Thanks Keldoth Wolfram Dekel and you too Tuna, i want this to stay on topic.

That would be awesome and yet horrible.

I have to imagine no one was hurt too badly, being that this is football and they're wearing helmets, masks and some body stuff.

Might want to include a topic question or something to focus on...otherwise this is going to devolve into randomness pretty quickly...

Not sure what else to say without a topic...

How about: Discuss football fights, your own similar personal experiences that are similar, and this situation in particular.

Yeah, something like that...or you could go technical and raise the question of the relationship between sports and violence...anything, really...otherwise this is just a blog post...

Yeah, I edited, it I want this to stay about Football and fights in that sport but if it moves to sport related vioulence I will change the title, so it doesn't get locked.

But, I need to go to bed, because I have football early tomorrow so don't get off topic please

Ehh, the games are fun to go to; it's the only place I can hang out with some of my pals.

As for fights? Let's just say... the hospital was quite busy that night.

One night durring the freshman PVI vs O Connell game (PVI hate o Connell) the people who were rooting for o connell ran off where they were sitting and attacked the PVI group. in the end police came and the fight ended. o connell kids are not aloud (last i heard...left the school) at PVI games anymore and it was worth the laugh. Sadly PVI could not sue o connell because they are owned (supposidly) by the same company and yea i thought that was a fun night xD

It was a couple of years ago so yea

I think football (and sports, in general) suck anyways. I'd rather not fondle some sweaty, 200 pound guy's love handles, thanks very much.

Mmm I don't mind playing sports, hate watching them though. Just gets annoying when folks take a game (that's right, it's a game) and get all personal about it. I just find it moronic that fights should break out over "My team is better than your team!"...it sounds childish, I mean sure I can understand having pride and supporting your favorite team, but the folks who break into fights over it are just plain stupid to me.

Everyone knows football exists so that the Marching band can perform at halftime ;D

and one of the legacy stories passed down in my school, is why we don't play dixie as our "fight" song ---- band had to RUN for the buses.

People get temperamental over their marching bands , too.

Yeah I was in the band for about 8 years. One year we got bored and during the last game of the season we changed all the lyrics to our marching cadences and then at the beginning of the game me and like 15 other people from the sax section and drum line went running down the "tunnel", (during the beginning of the game the band lined up in 2 rows at the field goal and then the team runs out onto the field though there.)

there ended up being fights between our band and theirs at several games, ah how easy it is to form a rivalry.
