I am needing a quick summary of the Twokinds world for some friends for a campaign I'm going to be running soon. They don't have time to read the comic, so I need a description I can use to explain it to them. This is set several years after the comic, long enough that half-Keidrens have started to appear, but there are still a lot of hostilities between human and Keidren. The war is over, but peace talks are shaky at best.

All the races hate each other, anything with fur on it gets horny every month, and there are tons of Templar.

So, it's like the Crusades? With furries?

(first off, that horny thing must've been chaos's idea.)

In the world of twokinds, their are three masks, (blah, blah, and chaos), there are also 3 races, humans, furries, and gray furries.

all 3 hate each other, so much, humans have furry slaves. But the theme of the story is that there is no need for predudice and hate for people different from you. The theme is expressed most clearly by inter-species relationships, (humanxkeidran)T & F (bastainxkeidran) K & N {?humanxbastian?}.....

also, it's a medevil setting, and humans can use magic....the furries can use magic pet rocks, gray furries can't use magic, but are warmongering furballs.

2x action, 3x suspence, 5x Romantic comedy.

Has Tom really settled what the Keidran cycle is? Is it monthly?

...and the Basitins only get down once a year...explains their feistiness...

The furries keep human slaves, but we've not been to any furry camps yet, either, to see them. So both sides are equally wrong. I think that's a point many readers miss.

Evidence suggests it's merely every other month. :P

Agreed. You'll note that it's a pretty common thing for readers to end up blaming the Humans for what's going wrong in the world, although from the narrative itself, that's clearly not the actual case. But being as the Keidran and Basitin are nice, safe, imaginary things so our latent xenophobia doesn't act up, we are left with only our knowledge of humanity and what we're capable of. There're few hatreds as powerful as self-hatred, so Humans are blamed for everything.

That is one of the most epic strips in this entire comic.

"OMG CENSOR!"

Lol, still cracks me up...

But, yeah, this reminds me, I've always kinda been confused on the time line. It's mentioned, I believe somewhere on teh ship, that it has been about 6 months since Trace and Flora met. But, she's only gone into heat once, correct?

I don't really care about a possible hole, it's just something that was bugging me a bit...

Yes, but it makes more sense if you consider her having come out of heat just before she met Trace, then going into heat after knowing him for a bit, and then she (allegedly) became pregnant a few weeks after coming out of heat again. Flora will probably start to get concerned before very long if she doesn't end up in heat again.

Though it's hard to say how much of the comic ended up being incorrect or apocryphal after Tom's adjusted things to better suit the plot and the world. Keith might just not know what he's talking about and is simply repeating half-truths and rumors that he thinks are true.
