Because we need something to talk about, I've decided to put my seemingly-crazy theory into much clearer and more detailed words than previously. However, there isn't a whole lot to say anyways. Keith is a flat-chested lesbian. It's just so obvious. First is the flat-chested part. I really don't think I need to explain that one. This page tells us both that Keith's mother was abnormal, so it's not unlikely that Keith may be as well, and that her father was very militaristic, and it's possible that he wished Keith were male, which is why he seemed to hate Keith, despite the fact that Keith played the part of a boy to try and appease him. Here, Keith is upset by Alaric not because Keith is a heterosexual guy, but because she is a lesbian. Alaric knows this, and has tried to get Keith before (note: this means that Alaric is probably hetero).

Alaric's statue of Keith clearly doesn't have enough material to add "details," which makes me think that it's less external and more internal, if you catch my drift. Which I'm sure you do. Additionally, the statue in the background is further evidence that Alaric is straight. This scene is most important for the fact that when exposed, Keith instinctively covers everything. The idea of Laura raises an interesting question as well. Did her village disapprove of the marriage because Keith is Basitin, or was that just a false reason to cover up their true reason: they didn't like the idea of two females getting married? Hmm?

I don't think I need to point out to you how very feminine Keith looks either. Try as she might, Keith is still a girl, and she may have fooled the other Basitin, but not I. Also, It was just her tail. Duh. Perverts.

Basitins do not break laws save through accident, ignorance or insanity. For Keith to go to the men's baths, he must be a man. If Alaric knew Keith was a woman, for him to invite Keith to the baths, he would have broken the law.

Well, Keith could be considered 'insane' from the perspective of the typical Basitin. She's putting up an act of being male, and Alaric (whom we know has a penchant for bending rules and a clear affinity for Keith) is more than happy to play along. They were in a private bath not only because they wanted to talk privately, but also to keep Keith's secret. And if Keith had gone in the women's bath, she may have been recognized and then she'd be in trouble for pretending to be male when young.

Alaric knows the laws better than we do. Without a hard copy of this law, we couldn't possibly find the loopholes that Alaric could. (and who's to say Alaric isn't abnormal, like Keith? This is perhaps the reason Keith trusts Alaric with the secret; because they are similarly 'insane')

Actually, that "Bored" comic Tom drew supports this theory. Perhaps Keith snapped and did Trace?

If Keith were female, wouldn't it say the same thing as Natani's? And it is clearly stated that Natani's page contains spoilers, so Keith's page would contain them as well.

That one doesn't help your case. In uncolored sketch form, it was called "Linepaper Yaoi Pairing Sketch," thus indicating that the characters involved are both male.

And why would Keith be always referred to as male on the Characters Page?

Having bathed with Keith, wouldn't Natani know? If so, why didn't she protest when Keith left her at the gates of the Basitin bathhouse? If she knew, then she'd certainly point out Keith's hypocrisy.

1. Bah! Titles mean nothing. Maybe Tom's trying to mislead you.

2. Also bah. Natani, unlike Keith, has already been revealed as being female, which is why her gender is stated so clearly. When Keith's sex is revealed, a change to a similar description would be in order. Natani's contains spoilers because it's already happened in the comic. Keith hasn't come out yet, so it would be spoilers to everyone, rather than just the people who aren't caught up.

3. Natani was obviously under a great deal of duress, given that she'd been found out. She was probably so concerned with hiding her own body that she just didn't notice Keith's. And Keith offers to wash Natani's back. Why? To keep her facing away, of course, and from seeing Keith's own secret. Plus, Keith had a much easier time hiding it, considering she didn't have to deal with such a large bosom.

Why would his father agree to give him a name like Keith if he was outraged that he was a girl? Seems like that type of disappointed father would name a girl Nancy.

It's not that he was outraged, just a little disappointed. And maybe he wanted a boy bad enough to pretend that she was. Honestly, Keith's whole family is completely loco, and the Basitin, on the whole, were probably better off without them.

I have a male friend who is named Ashley. His mom wanted a girl.
