First, it was mentioned that they 'died out'.
Is it not true? Or Keith simply don't know that (because he was exiled)? Or is it RAFO? :) (Read And Find Out).
Also, there are 'fox keidran', 'wolf keidran', 'tiger keidran'...
Basitin seems very much like 'dog keidran' or something.
But it's not true, it seems.
If we are to take Earth biology, canines and felines are completely different species, not interbreedable (like keidran and humans, right).
So, what makes him so much different from keidran, I mean, more then 'tiger keidran' and 'wolf keidran' are different between each other? (Btw, shouldn’t it make the marriage between Flora and Fau.. hmm, I mean,
Or is this just some sort of 'fantasy' simplification? I hope it's not, cause I'm a big stickler for logic (VERY much like Zaebos from Earthsong, heh - and a demon too).
Of course, everyone is in control of his own imagination (that's why you should never argue with religions people, or at least hope to sway them somehow, he-he-he), but fantasy is one thing, and inner consistency of the world is another.

you shouldnt think of the different looks Keidrans have as a different species of Keidran-- their different looks are more like skin color for humans- we look different but are still all human-- same goes for Keidrans

Bastine are a totally different type of species-- though their mental state is more like the Humans and their bodies look more keidran--- and its unlikely Tom will give you all the details but ya gotta remember-- Everytime you try to bring logic into a fantasy setting bad stuff happens!

The situation with the Basitins will be revieled in time.

As for the difference between Basitin and Keidran, there are physical differences. All Basitin look the same, with brown and white fur, and large ears. There are also mental differences. Basitin have a military society, and they're isolationists. However, it's true that they are no more different then each clan of the Keidran are with each other.

The major difference between Keidran and Basitin is that they were each created by a different Demi-god. The Basitin choose to seperate themselves from the Keidran, and insist people call them by a different name. So, they actually make themselves another race, even if they all could easily be called Keidran.

Keidran of other clans can mate with each other because, dispite their different outside appearances, they are still all the same species. They don't really have anything to do with the animals they look like. In the story, it's not evolution that brings them about, they were created physically compatable in most combinations. However, the clans try their best to keep the races from mixing, and keeping themselves pure, which is why Keidran like Flora, Laura, or the wolves still exist. In truth, there are generic Keidran that exist inbetween the clans.

I hope that helps. Oh, and if you're wondering, Basitins can mate with Keidran.

I could explain all of it, but I don't know how to put it. I'm just going to let one of the head guys like Sage explain. Did you read the whoe comic. Because you're asking if some things are RAFO. Just get ready to be burned by someone for these questions

Pretty much as I thought. Thanks anyway :).

And thank you very much for this too.
This is insightful indeed.
I see you've taken a rather serious approach towards background and story of your comic, you have my sincere respect for this.

Heh, yes, they can, but they generally don't. They are trained to be independent from other races. Keith, however, never finished his training.
