Yeah, title says it all, but this isn't only me bragging. I mean, I'm a retard-I'm almost 17, and I'm just now getting my PERMIT!!!

No, it's also to complain about the stupid written test I had to take. I don't know how much I can legally say about the test, but there is one question on it that I absolutely must share with the world. It's not verbatum, so it should be okay:

Question:

"What does this sign indicate:" (rectangular sign with yellow and black stripes, marking a curve)

Answers:

"Curve coming up."

"Turn to avoid obstacle in road."

"A barber shop is coming up on the right."

I sh!t you not. What the hell, man? An illegal with less than a basic understanding of the English language could pass this test!!!

I'll rant more later, but I have to take care of my mixed feelings. I mean, I may be kinda irritated at the government, but I DID just get my driving permit.

=^.^=

Congratulations, I'm almost seventeen myself, but I've had mine for about 8 months. I have until september to get my license before I have to renew my permit. I really should get on that.

:P

Well, congrats on getting the permit anyway. Now is that a full operator's permit ("driver's license") or a provisional permit?

Nice, I'm going for my test on the 21st :\. Kinda nervous. Then again I'm one of the calmest people when driving so eh...

I hate driving, especially reverse. I'm calm, I just can never remember which way to turn the wheel when backing up. Parallel parking is one of the reasons I don't want to take my driving test yet. i've been allowed since March and I haven't gotten to it.

It's just a learner's permit, provisional, I guess, until I've completed the driver's ed class (I'm doing the at-home course). I'm actually not that bad, I only went the wrong way down a one-way street once, and only blew 2 stop signs.

Yeah, that was a joke.

I actually don't really need to take the final test to get my license, because I'm not taking the classroom...err...class. My parents can just sign off that I'm good enough to be on the roads alone, and I get my license. Pretty cool, but again, it makes the whole thing completely pointless. Anyone could lie about the whole thing, and be behind the wheel in 6 months-those are the people you need to watch out for, av. ^^

So, yeah. I'm excited, and thanks for the congrats. I'll do my best not to kill too many people.

I took my driving test back in 2000 or 2001, I can't remember. The written test was rediculously easy but yeah, I barely passed the road test. But I didn't fail, :)

Is it normal to think that avwolf is right when he says your town is dangerous... I see the future of that town like the second movie of AVP, it starts with a peaceful town until everyone dies because of one person. *shivers*

Just the sidewalks? I'm not driving anywhere NEAR Texas now.

I kid, I kid.

I had to wait until I was 16 before I could get my learner's permit. I got my license quickly, but only because my parents were tired of hauling me around.

Yeah, the only reason I'm getting it now instead of just waiting 'till I'm 18, and skipping the drivers ed and permit thing, is because of my parent's insistence. I couldn't care less about it, to be honest... But it is fun to drive-for now-so whatever. I'll get my actual license around Christmas, I guess, so that'll be cool.

when I took my drivers test I got a perfect score on the parking part, and a few points off for speeding on the highway :p (80MPH is not the speed limit)

but yeah, I have had my license since I turned 16

I failed my test the first time, but I contest the instructors score. When a light turns green, it is perfectly legal to pull into the intersection -- and that's what I did. I was turning left, so I went about 15 feet, stopped, and then she failed me. Very first turn. Aside from that, I would have passed.

Lol, I've noticed that a lot of people just don't care. I suppose that makes me one of them...what a scary thought...
