ok, So I was just wondering how you guys/girls came up with your screen-name.

Twayblade is actually a female character from a book called The Long Patrol by Brian Jacques. She was a Captain in a large and extremely effective army (the long patrol was the name of the army) Captain Twayblade's weapon of choice is the Rapier. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention she is a hare. :D (I recommend any Redwall book, because they are awesome, and all the characters are animals)

Zomg!! I knew I recognized your name from somewhere! I read all the way up to Lord Brocktree alll the way back in middle school... awesome series!! ^^

Anyways, to the point of the thread, lol.

My name came from a time long long ago, in a galaxy.... well probably not so far from here... Flash back to 8 or 9 years ago, when I was getting into online Starcraft for the very first time in my life (oh the memories *tear*) and I had aboslutely no Idea what I could use for a name...

So I did what every crazy person with as weird of a sense of creativity As I have would do... I took out a reallly big Websters Dictionary that even at the time looked to be from around the 1500's... maybe even BC, who knows...

So yeah, I flipped randomly through the dictionary without looking, then pointed to random page... Turns out it was the Po page.... So I continued to look on that page for something that sounded cool or creative, until I stumbled upon Pooca... a Pooca (or "Pooka") is a shapeshifting creature from Irish myth, more commonly portrayed as some sort of rabbit or other seemingly harmless animal, but, much like the Chupacabra, is also known for being very mischievous and sometimes dangerous.

Anyone see the play Harvey? The main character has an imaginary friend who is a Pooka, but in the shape of a 6 foot, 3 inch tall rabbit. Ironicly, I am also 6 feet and 3 inches tall. XD

Then Pooka was taken, so I randomly thought of Mystikal_ as a prefix, and voila! Name of Alter-ego-ish proporations! (Ive been using Mystikal_Pooka on like everything for the last 8 or 9 years... ^^;)

wow... goes to show how bored I am that I typed that all out... Meh oh well. Its like the life story of my awesome screen-name. ^^

Mine was simple enough

Mech : swiped from MechWarrior and tacked infront of "sae" so it would be long enough for an e-mail adress.

Sae : achieved by randomly banging the keyboard trying to come up with a screen name cause I was unimaginative and in a hurry to get on a Half-Life death match game in high school.

... there is an alternate reason, but it's not very truthful "Mech, cause I was planning mechanical engineering and SAE is Society of Automotive Engineers"

Kitten is a persona of mine >_> Normally she's really out there when it comes to things, but I've got her pretty tame now. It's a long story that would make you guys think I'm seriously weird and need medical attention.

In short: Kitten is me if I were a furry. But... a lot more open and not so shy.

I write fiction, and the first chapter is always the one I end up writing 100x over. By the end, it's my fastest revision.

Hence "fastchapter," because the first one is my favorite.

Well, I really like foxes, and wanted a unique name, so obviously, wanted fox in there. I was looking through a Tolkien Elven names book and was looking for a word that meant "fox" and found that Rusc means Fox.

yeah...so techinally my name means FoxFox :)

I came up with trabian after juggling around with some sounds and letters I liked.

It actually wasn't my nickname at first.

One of my earliest internet experiences was also my first experience with RP'ing. The forum I was learning my ropes had a rule that you had to register as your characters' name (atleast your main one).

Although the character has actually long been retired, I just keep using the name. It has so many fond memories and embarassing moments associated with it.

I also frequently use Diatsa as a screen name, its a word from my homebrewn world. It simply means "place" also meant as "home" and very occasionally as "me or myself"

Gaming names I use Wasp or SnowyOwl. Wasp is simple, when playing a competive game, I can be an irritating opponent. Or atleast someone that bugs you.

Snowy Owl isn't a correct English word, but it came up with a random name generator once in a game. I liked it and kept the name for myself. (Escape Velocity for those that might know of it.)

Not that this hasn't been done before, but I honestly have no idea. It just sort of came to me one day.

On a side note, I think it's some Japanese knife company, but I'm not quite sure -- I don't speak Japanese.

Ya know, I'm not even really sure anymore. :P I've had this for so long that I don't remember how I ended up coming to it. I think I was just playing around with the name "Kin" since I needed a name for a character in FFXI, and wanted to make it sound Japanese, so, Kinuki. *shrug*

"Spike" has been my nickname for quite a few years now. It was originally sparked my my firends calling me a dog, so I had to choose between Spike, Rover, and Anarchist (no idea...) for a nickname. Around that time, I had started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I thought Spike was a cool nickname, so I chose that.

Rules Hell is a bit harder to explain. Really, since the character from the show was evil for most of the seasons, it was a reasonable ending, but I really don't know exactly where it started. Basically, if I can't just be Spike, I'll tack it on to the end to make it acceptable to whatever online thing I'm joining.

Oh, and you don't want to know any of my other screen names...

Where FlyingCats Came from/why:
1. I totally suck at making creative names.
2. I'm a catgirl/cat/neko addict.
3. I'm a flying addict.
4. I can easily type it at school.
5. Because of FlyingCats sounding too bland (and too overused), Ion came from out of nowhere. It was one of the few names I've been able to just think off the top of my head and NOT think of it as too normal or bland.

Although now that I think of it, adding the Ion was a mistake, too unrule to type squashed up aganst a chair and a desk...

SCA persona, Wynnefredd FitzGibbon. My name is one of the million and a half variants of Guinevere......so I simply chose a Welsh version that was also my grandmother's name.

Now you're sure it wasn't an attempt to blend the words "kinky" and "nookie"?

Ozymandias from the poem "Ozymandias of Egypt", which led me to "Ozy and Millie" comics.
