I learned something new today:
PETA killed almost 3,000 animals in 2006.
I'm doing a research essay on animal rights and I stumbled across www.petakillsanimals.com, which led me to all sorts of shocking discoveries, not the least of which is that PETA killed 98% of the pets entrusted to their care.
People need to know about this. In an organization where members would happily sacrifice a mentally retarded child to save a dog's life, thousands of house pets are being killed every year. In fact, a couple of years ago, two PETA members were arrested for unlawfully killing over a dozen healthy animals and leaving their carcasses in a dumpster.
Now, I know that the readers of a furry webcomic are probably big-time animal lovers, so I'm prepared to be flamed. But animal lovers need to hear/see this for themselves most of all. I hope it'll make one person think twice before donating to or condoning People for the Euthanization of Thousands of Animals.
These are not sickly, non-viable creatures. PETA resorted to building its own death chamber after local veterinarians refused to euthanize perfectly healthy dogs and cats.
And yet they give children disgusting brochures telling them that their parents murder helpless bunnies.
You be the judge.

I thought PETA was to protect animals? I'm confused.

I'm just as shocked/confused. I've always heard stories about PETA kidnapping foxes from the fox hunt, or animals from the laboratory, and setting them loose.
But when people turn their beloved housepets in to PETA, they expect it to be adopted out, not callously euthanized and tossed in a garbage bin.

.__.

I've driven past the PETA building. It looks harmless enough...

People shouldn't drop their pets off there anyways. The local SPCA will take them without a problem. They check to make sure the animals are healthy... if they're really bad they'll contact the owner, with prior consent of course and put them down. If they're fine, they give them the medical treatment, and then put them up for adoption.

I knew there was something evil about PETA...

This is all old news. Did you also know that PETA wants total liberation of animals? Lots of PETA supporters are pet owners but the joke's on them! PETA also funds terrorists who fire-bomb animal research facilities and the like.

-euthanizes urge for internet tomfoolery-

Firstly the link in your post doesn't work cause you have a comma after the .com

And onto reactions

Wow, that sucks. Further reminders for everyone to never get involved with extremist groups.

Zing!

I had no clue that PETA had "roving death vans" scouring the streets. I'd almost think this was a joke, but hypocrisy nowadays is at an all time high. If the PETA facility euthanizes almost twice as many animals as the SPCA -- which is only four miles away -- it makes you wonder about their qualifications and practices.

My friend absolutly LOATHS PETA (to the point of practically going Rambo on people who support them- no seriously) and what they stand for based on this exact reason....actually our entire group of friends feel the same way about the **********'s

Euthanizing sick or badly injured animals, duh go figure (on that note, do not use a sledgehammer to kill an injured deer, it's really bad if you miss, it makes all kinds of noises and stuff)

Perfectly healthy, happy animals? Outright murder if you ask me.....I sense flame territory....

Slow people are slow- this is old news, I think we had like 5 topics YEARS ago all about PETA. I can't imagine people who know what PETA is to not know about all of this as it is.

I mean really- they firebombed an animal shelter where they "freed" the animals- however they didnt take them out - they just opened their cages- being animals used to staying in cages- they all died in the fire.

http://2kinds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1477 This is an old PETA thread that sums up my opinion and has a lot more info on them, if you want to see it all. Just don't necropost.

I've known about this crap for years, I just haven't posted anything about it. At least, not that I recall.
