She was in a maid's uniform with black cat ear's. She was knda cute too, i think 15 maybe 16. So yeah how could a guy cosplay as soething and what?

Well, I'd say pick a male character from an arbitrary anime and roll with that. Now, the ideal is one that looks vaguely like you (at least in facial characteristics and build, because those are somewhat more difficult to disguise with a costume) and one that has a good female counterpart that she likes and can do.

The closest to cosplay i can get to is dressing up like Dante or Keiichi (Ah! My Goddess) The thing i hate about the thing id that all the chick's look kinda cute in cosplay most of them dress up as cat's or Maid's.

The weirdest one ive seen in one dressed up as Belldandy.(Ah! My Goddess.)

Curious, what would a generously rounded, kind short, 30 something be able to cosplay?

How many fat chicks are ever used in anime?

Technically in most anime "fat chicks" dont exist- at least as main characters or for that matter- supporting characters. Some are used for comedy only reasons or used in some of the more "realistic" style animes. Still overweight characters in general are normally a no no in anime unless they are HUUUGE or have a very strange additude or role in the story, and those are usually males. Yes if you go searching you can find them- but when you translate a person to an anime- you base it mostly off of their personality- and not their physical characteristics.

Otherwise- the weight goes straight to the breasts.

When looking for a cosplay roll for older women (opposed to all the 8-18 year old girls!) Look for characters placed in a possition of power or a mentor, Teachers (Card Captor Sakura had several female teachers and male teachers that are rather popular, as well as parents, of course you also have Azu Manga Daoih, and if you have the "assets" for it- the teacher from Marahomatic) and the usual "anime esque" type characters, where all you need is the right costume- for example, a Shrine Maid outfit, a french maid uniform, a jumper (like many PE teachers wear), or a Kimono. All of those have some attachment to anime and can work as cosplay- but if you want to truely cosplay and want to use one of those kinds of costumes- find a character that wears them- notice the slight differences in the outfits - and apply them and work with your hair to fit as much as possible.

Whew- im done for now.

Hey. I'm generously rounded and kinda short. I'm just missing the age. But as Sage said, cosplay popular teachers. Those seem like they would work out well for you. As for me, I'm not letting my figure stop me too much. I'm working on losing weight, as I'm supposed to, but I'm still going as Tifa Lockhart to AMA, Otakon, and Nekocon. I usually just pick the well rounded girls. The ones with curves and of course, the chest.

You could try Matsumoto Rangiku from Bleach.

As for helping you out Abyss, I'd have to see pics.

Wynni - Uhm...could go as Rumi from Perfect Blue - she's an easily-recognized, classic character...
:3

As for the OPs question...actually, cosplaying as a male anime character is super-easy, considering that many of the male roles in anime were plain ol', normal guys...the majority of nonm-fantasy anime feature a male character who wears normal clothes, and often a nice suit...Jigen from Lupin III wore a standard suit, but with a cool hat...shoot, Lupin himself wears a suit, and the unique color combo is what make him instantly identifiable...

You could also get away with any anime that has a uniform. Like Full Metal Alchemist or Full Metal Panic... some of them from the Gundam series, Trinity Blood looks like it has some kind of uniform.. Like I suggested earlier to Wynni, Bleach... there's a lot.

Or if you're really desperate, make yourself the Sims diamond and wear it over your head. Image
Or a yellow exclamation point and you can give people quests.

Or you could wear cameo or something Snake wears and walk around under a box.

Regarding cosplay, I'm a virgin to it. I've seen a few girls on campus wear what I'm assuming is cosplay on campus, but then again I'm not familiar enough with any specific anime to know a character off hand. They all look the same to me, :)

DO NOT FEAR THE FORBIDDEN! Crossdressing is OK asl ong as you dont try to cosplay some tall thin female when your 4 feet tall, 600 lbs, and have your portable forest on your leg.

Eya... I have damn hard time thinking of WHAT I'd do... Other than PPH all over again...

seriously, if you wanna cosplay either way, go for it. Don't be weak like me... (Yea, weak at this among thousands of other things.)

I cosplayed as Kiba from Naruto for halloween last year. It was fun, I had red face paint, A fuzzy winter jacket, which was nice because it was raining and cold, that looked a lot like kiba's, grey with brown fuzz, and two real kunai. It was a lot of fun, but miserable since I was walking everywhere and it was cold and wet. I'm 6' and 130 lbs, 16 yrs w/ dark red hair, So I'm not grossly out of porportion to Kiba. Pick someone you like thats possible (You probably CAN'T dress as a charizard or bulbasaur.) I want to dress as Alegretto or Chopin from Eternal Sonata this year.
