Alright then. We don't quite have enough people to actually make the tournament happen yet, or maybe there are some of you that didn't vote and posted, or didn't post, but voted. I don't really know. We need a minimum of 8 people, because I don't expect you to have more than 2 people.
But in the mean time, here's one of the new species for you to consider for you eventual death.
Betyla: An insect-like race, they stand upright on four spider-like legs and have two arms that are located farther up that are capable of grasping things (think arms people). It's main body is encased in a thick, armor-like shell that is not easily broken by force. The only exposed part of it's body is, strangely, its "head". They have eyes, mouths, and ears within these "heads" but their brains, and everything else of importance for that matter, are tucked safely away within their thick shells. Loosing the head only render them unable to communicate with other species. They may have eyes, but they are mostly smell based, relying on scent and touch to find their ways around. No one has ever found their "noses". The shells on their backs are split in two, and open up to reveal large wings. Their wings are no longer powerful enough to allow flight, but they can cause quite a strong gust of wind (enough to make you stumble at least when first hit) and can provide a good thrust. Males have one very large horn protruding from their back just behind their heads, and the females have two much smaller horns on either side.
The Betyla language strangely contains no sound, as they emit pheromones to "talk" to each other. The queen, which is the oldest living Betyla, can emit so many that no one has ever survived long enough to count them. The queen's pheromones are special, in that they can rob any Betyla of their free will, forcing them to do the queen's bidding. Most view this as the highest honor one can be given. Due to their "head's" mouth and ears, they are able to learn the language of other creatures.
Their society is, quite literally, a hive. The queen, who has lived so long, no one but her even remembers if they had any other queens, rules all. Her word is law, and disobeying her often results in death from her legions of controlled drones. The queen is not the only female that can mate, and she does not do so often, so much of the population is descended from the worker class. She has outlawed the use of magic, for one reason or another, which has evolved into a general cultural taboo. Any mage that is caught practicing magic is either exiled or executed, depending on how skilled they are. The more skilled, the more likely they will die. Their execution is usually accompanied by a quiet "That'll teach you to set my hair on fire..." from the queen.
...I have way too much fun thinking these things out.
