Right. I’ve got an Idea for a game.

And not these normal Role play games (I have a Idea for that too, but I’m waiting For More Than Human to be over until I pitch that one) that show up on these boards, Oh no, I have a Idea for a game. With rules.

I know, it’s terrifying, isn’t it?

I know the basic set up for what I’d do right about now, but I’m just a little torn between what concepts I’d be doing. Both are the same type of game (basically), but they are quite different thematically

The First Idea is simple, and low fantasy. The players would be the lords (or Ladies) of certain Noble houses, during a civil war, and must attempt to claim the throne before it is lost to them forever. The setting would be medieval, around 1200 A.D. maybe, and would focus on politics, the maneuvering of armies (though not the battles themselves), and treachery. Think of the game “Diplomacy” but with some role playing elements.

The other Idea I have is much more high fantasy. I picked up the original Idea over at the Giant in the playground forum, and I love it. The premise is that a group of several species have just attained sentience, and with their advent certain Immortals have come into being. The Species attempt to expand, evolve and adapt to their world, while the Immortals must obtain worship and power. In this game, some players would be entire species, while others would be the Immortals. From what I’ve seen, these games are rather fun.

Ideas? Would you want to play this sort of thing?

I love both of those. They sound like fun. Although, I think I'd rather play things on a slightly less grand scale. I'll at the very least watch either game, but I don't know what I'd participate in.

The Gods and Mortals game would be good for you then. Just play a immortal.

I say Imortal rather than God beacuse in the begining you are pathetically weak actually, just above a normal human, but below a demigod. As a bonus, you only have to play one person, and most of your actions are based around talking and coersion. From what i know about you as a role player Killroy, I think you like those sort of things. :D

I vote for lords & ladies. My first move is to poise my flintlock pistol at the head of the current holder of throne and dispatch of him forthwith. It appears I have won this duel of wits, and now find myself in need of my manservant. Someone fetch him for me?

Pip-pip, cheerio!

Seems interesting, but I really prefer playing as a singular character.
I don't really like controlling entire species or armies.

Ah, but in the Lords one, you are a single person, just one with a lot of political power.

Yes, that does sound like fun, but I think I'd like both kinds. As I would have fun with either.

I am interested in the idea of Gods and Mortals, but I don't know if anyone would be willing to play the mortals... I'd do lords and ladies tho.

Is it the Soouund of Muuusiic!
Sorry.
And I would much prefer being Nikola Tesla rather then a Lord or Lady.
Cause, y'know.
He's awesome.

Everyone would, It's Nikola Tesla. He can hold FIRE!

But on the subject of mortals:

You'd think that, but from the previous threads I've seen the mortals can be super cool, and they evolve as the game goes on. Every turn they get a certain amount of points and an use those to improve themselves. And since this is freeform, that means you can have them shoot lasers out of their eyes if you want to

Caveman:Ooog oog Physics learnt oog.

I wanna learn Physics and Advanced Mathematics when they're cavemen, but not let them learn Language or how to Read until they're in the Space Ages.
Laser Cavemen?
No.
Laser Cavemen that shoot Nikola Tesla out of their eyes?
Yes.

I also want to use cats with guns.

WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE

But my Teslas would throw lightning at the Edisons!

Okay back on topic.
I'll play for either of them, but only if I get to be an Immortal for the Gods one.
