Elegant. :D

There is so little historical comedy floating around, especially when America comes out on the loosing end.

They actually performed that song in Seattle, it went off extremely well. I like it more for the fact that it's putting real history in a comical context, rather than it being about us losing. :P If I wanted a chuckle about how we're on the losing ends of things, I'd turn on the news.

Interesting, for some reason, they always gloss over that part.

But my history teacher was cool about Washington being sent home from the first invasion nude.

He eplained about that, so we'd understand why, during the Delware crossing engagement, the hessians were sent packing in just their skivvies. :P

The main reason a lot of that is pleasantly buried in footnotes or tiny little sentences in huge paragraphs is because public schools in the States tend not to buy history books that show the negative side of our history. Parents complain about what their kids are being taught and theres nothing worse for a low-budget school than to buy new textbooks. They generally buy the happy fluffy ones, so publishers generally only publish the happy fluffy ones. Further up the chain, the authors only pen the happy fluffy ones.

Its only until college that your professors decide what books you buy - and you buy them, usually. While our history isn't horrible, there is a lot we miss. Look up Japanese internment camps and see what you find.
