Hey all; it's been a while since I've actively posted on here (I like just reading up on what's been said and all). So, I decided to try and post some sketches that I've been working on, and see what you guys think.

Here's one I started on sometime last week, and:

Here's one I tried coloring last night.

I'd love to here from you guys!

On the color image, the base of the tail seemed to be too far up.

Also, you might want to look more into the body proportions. It may be just me who's tired and seeing things that isn't there tho O_o. Other than that, the drawings were pretty good.

i like them, specialy the first drawing. Seems to have a little more personality then the usual character drawings. The anatomy quite good all in all but it got some parts that doesn't look right the more you stare at it. Even when drawing a tail on a human-like character, the placement of the tail should make sense anatomicaly. :P I think it starts a bit to high up if you look closely. I dunno if the fox-girl have a navel, but i assume it's at the buttom where the clothstuff starts. If it is, the elbows are to high up.

Anyways, it's nice overall. I like the faces too.

Some people on this forum gets infected by the bad habbit that is slightly growing on this Drawing Board forum, which is to critizise art way to much without giving any real motivation or support for what the creator of it has already put some hard work into. Only seeing fault and not what's good about it, everyone can see the problem with any form of art if thats what they are looking for, but what you truly should look for is what is good with it. I get the feeling some people here almost thinks that this is an art school where you can never draw well enough. But no one can make a perfect drawing. Nothing is perfect and I think that's what makes stuff special anyways.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement!

I've got another new one, so check it out:

I started filling in the white areas, but then realized that I like the look a lot better as is.

Great pics, if anything, i would like to say if you ever get your hands on a photoshop program you can make those look even better though in pencil they look nice too.

I think your line art is fantastic [really so], but your colouring definitely needs some digital help. Colour pencils don't do your work justice.

Great work on all of 'em.

Only suggestion is perhaps working on the blood splatter.

Thanks for all of the tips/encouragement! I really do need to work on my coloring skills; that, and get my hands on photoshop or a similar program.

Also, I should have something new up later tonight; keep your fingers crossed for something decent!

Well, it took a bit longer than anticipated, but here it is:

This one gave me waaaaay too much trouble. It's my first attempt at people sitting down, and hoo boy, it took two hours to get to this....

Any tips would be highly appreciated.

That was really good. Really loved how the faces and expressions showed some of the character's personality. Some shading and shadowing would have made it much better, but it is time consuming xD

However, it seems to me that the necks of your characters are a tad bit long. Anatomy might still be your biggest challenge I think, to get the right proportions etc.

Photoshop is an amazing tool, but it also costs.

Sorry if I seem to be very negative, but if I don't say anything it means that I can't find anything wrong with it xD

Oh, that's totally fine. It keeps me from getting a big head about my stuff.

Well, this one scanned in kinda badly, but you can still see it alright:

Trust me, it looks about 1.5x better on the paper I've got here!

Well, I finally got my hands on GIMP, so here's a first-draft attempt at one of my older pics:

It's nowhere near done, but I wanted to get some opinions on the coloring before I go into shading it or any other fancy effects.

Looks pretty cool, but the coloring seems out of place, although that is probably because you havn't colored his ENTIRE body yet.

Also, the fingers on his left hand look like they are almost not attached to the hand.

If you dont have a tablet you shouldnt redraw the lineart with the brush tool (much less the pixel/pencil tool) - you were better off coloring the pencil art.
