But, if they reach sexual maturity quickly, just not being considered fully grown/adults until much later, the whole thing makes a lot more sense.
Humans reach sexual maturity significantly before they turn 18, but they aren't considered adults until that age. They aren't given *full* adult privileges until 21 (in America anyway).
Of course this also depends on definition of sexual maturity. A human male develops the ability to impregnate a female at the late-preteen to early teen years, but doesn't complete puberty until late teens or early twenties sometimes. Which one do you consider sexually mature, the ability to copulate and reproduce, or having finished the stage of puberty? Keidran probably have a bunch of similar things to consider.
What I mean by sexual maturity is the ability to bear children. Most creatures reach this stage fairly quickly in comparison to his life spans. I would like to know what the Keidran definition of an adult is, and at what time they reach the ability to have children. In order for their lifespans to make sense, in comparison to other creatures, they would have to be able to have a kid at about age 5-6, maybe 7. At least that is my, completely unprofessional, opinion.
