With all the movies coming out this time of the year its nice to know that there's one that you can look to for holiday cheer.
Sweeney Todd a deliciously dark musical directed by Tim Burton.
I saw it and must say that it was a really powerful movie.
And don't think it's bad because it's a musical either, it's very good music (once the movie let out I went and got the soundtrack) and all in all it's the music that tells the story so well and gives the movie the rich depths of emotion that are portrayed.
Uh, anyway, enough going on about it.

I finally saw it night before last, and loved the heck out of it.

Freakin' loved Depp's singing, and loved the high ammount of neck slicing.

I saw Sweeney Todd when it came out! *spazzes* Like no one else has. I liked it and was sad Danny Elfmen didn't do the music. He's like, my hero.

"Parelli's mircale elixer, it'll do the trick sir, true sir true!" I loved that song, and then Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett saying it looked and smelled like urine. Nice.

"Twas Pirelli's Miracle Elixir,
that's what did the trick sir,
true sir, true.
Was it quick sir,
did it in a tick, sir,
just like an elixir
ought to do."

Sweeney Todd is my favorite musical EVAR!!! Saw it before the movie was even considered, and I've always loved Sondheim's work.

I was pissed off that the movie cut out the Ballad, and cut Priest short.

Our theater never picked it up, and freaking BitTorrent isn't being helpful!

Good thing it's hitting DVD soon!

Reviving this thread.. just to show my love to this movie.

I saw this movie... and adored it! They were all awesome singers.. I got really annoyed when I went to buy the soundtrack though.. apparently everywhere in Perth didn't order the soundtrack in.. besides a couple of places which sold out quickly. And even then they only ordered in the normal edition which didn't have all the songs. I ended up ordering a delux edition from America.. it took a couple of months to come in, but it was so worth it.

Depp & Burton make a great team.. I love everything they have done together.. and everything they have done seperately too.

ima gonna Sweeny Todd you!!!
