I've come to find that I'm not so good at drawing (*gasp*), but at the same time, I've discovered pixel art. Here are a couple of things I've done so far:

Gandalf!

Playsation!
and here are a few that I can't take full credit for, becuase I made them but they came from a tutorial:

Feedback and constructive criticism would be appreciated. ^_^

I like the metroid, but shouldn't it have a third claw-thingy?

And now I know who you are on Squidi... 8)

... Gandalf looks decent, but the shading is inconsistent. The PS2 looks nice, but the others... For all I can tell, you just ripped sprites from Megaman, Final Fantasy, Mario, and Metroid (Metroids before they evolve, only have 2 main claws. Anything else is a small sibsidary fo the first).

Like I said in the original post, I can't take full credit for them because They were from a tutorial.

normally teach you to copy them so you can practice certain skill by copying the picture provided untill you thing you've got the idea and can make some of your own at the same quality... at least thats what i gather from tutorials.

Well those tutorials are BS. The only way to learn how to sprite is through trial and error. Anything else will result in you making recolors and slight edits for the rest of your days.

There is no one way to learn how to do something- If recreating a existing sprite helps people understand what resolutions work for certain sprites then its a fine way to start.

Neh. I'm just ranting from when I used to train people in the ways of spriting. I wish I could still sprite like I could, but I'm too lazy right now, and it doesn't matter to me.

Nice Gandalf. :P

... But there's something suspicious about those other ones that made me think you just copy-pasted them and resized them? o.o

I'm a spriter too, by the way. ^^

Hence the avvy, lol. I DID make it myself. Except for the guitar. :P
