Since we already have anime I figured we should have a manga discussion thread.

I'd just like to say that I am a Love Hina whore. It's the first manga I've ever read and I enjoy it very much. If you've read the manga and then watched the anime and liked the anime better then shame on you. Also, I've underlined manga that I think are interesting and worth paying for.

Now. Ken Akamatsu is a great artist and writer. I've got Negima, A.I. Love You, and Love Hina. These are all very good but they all seem to be the same storyline with different characters in a somewhat different enviroment.

I don't really like the action genre in manga. None of the books seem to be too appealing. In manga I'm more interested in the love and comedy stories. They are best seen when read in my opinion. It also takes alot longer for each scene to pass unlike in anime where it can all go by in a few minutes and the detail is lost. Chobits is a good example. Although I don't like much of the action manga, Ragnarok and Chrono Crusade are both very good books which I suggest everyone goes out and buys right now. (I said now! I don't care what time it is. :) )

I'm still looking to expand my manga collection so if anyone has any suggestions I'm open.

Pretty much everything by CLAMP is great (Chobits, Card Captor Sakura, X, Tsubasa, XXXHolic) Right now im crazy about XXXHolic and Tsubasa (which cross over several times) -- also Negima and A.I. Love You -- and many others... yeah i love the romance comedies too -- Love Hina sits on my shelf in its majesty :P

Let's see... Azumanga Daioh is a good series to waste some time on, I've got the first two so far and they are great! So funny! I have the first Love Hina that I got from a friend for Christmas, but I don't think I'm going to get any more of those because it's not exactly my thing. About four other girls and myself are following the DNAngel series like the fangirls we are, I have all the ones released so far and they get passed around our group. I got the first FLCL and abosolutely LOVED it because I'm sucha fan of the anime. I have the entire .hack//udeden series which was cute, but more for fans of the series I think. I've got Prince of Tennis which isn't too bad at all if you like tennis. I guess that's it besides Naruto, and I don't have much to comment on that.

Ooh, the Lupin the 3rd manga from Monkey Punch is really good too... if you don't mind extreme suggestive themes. I think that the manga is better than the TV show (which is still really good in its own sense).

Also, the Shooting Star series for Cowboy Bebop is excellent.

Ive read a few mangas but my favorite is the Trigun series. It has every thing a manga should have action, meaning, comedy, and a random cat that shows up evey know and then. Its a refreashing series that has the main charactor try hard to solve all his problems without violence in a wolrd were its the only easy option. That and its just a great read. Oh it also his left arm is a machine gun and his right can fuse with his gun to become one huge uber gun, yet he still doesnt belive in killing.

I have alot of Fav mangas. There is Naruto of course, but I think my fav. is School Rumble. It's structured so defrently from other mangas, and I find it's humourous little chapters to be very entertaining. Death Note is an awesome manga, very stimulating. Girls Bravo is great, just like the anime. Hana Kimi was good, though I did not like the ending. I really liked Happy World too, very funny.

I have a few manga favs such as Ranma 1/2, its about a teen that turns into a girl when splashed with cold water and turns back when splashed with warm water.

-I really like Maison Ikkoku witch is a romance manga
-Im not into to much action either but Trigun is pretty cool
-another fave is The Slayers witch is much better as a manga than
as a anime

I've been collecting manga for a little over a year, and so far, I have 53 of them...I would have more but I'm to young to have a job so I dont have any money :|

I cant say I have any favorites, but I'm a big fan of Ken Akamatsu, and I really like Chobits...

borders, barnes and nobles, waldenbooks, or any big name book store should have them. i get my manga fix from suncoast and borders. Currently am reading DearS (awesome series with lots of situational humor), Psychic Academy (monster loads of humor, mostly from Master Boo, the MCs trainer) and just picked up Get Backers (my friend is Genji to the extreme) and Chobits (F$%$ING AWESOME!). so.....yeah.

We have a winner! Yeah, just check at these places. Small comic book stores may have them as well.
