Anyone else play/own/love/hate/etc. this game? I got it for Christmas. I like it; aside from a few issues (those damn drunks/retards that shove you should never have been put in the damn game), it's a pretty good game. All the people who give it bad reviews or say it's disappointing, I dunno what they were expecting. A flawless, perfect game?

I too got it for christmas and in my opinion it was a really great game.
it seems to be very authentic in terms of atmosphere and it looks beautiful.

the only downside is how you can kill a near infinite amount of guards with the counterattack ability (this is only a mild complaint because you feel pretty cool doing it) other than that I loved it. the end was a little confusing though :? probably just means there will be more down the road

I have to say I was just a little disappointed with the game. [unfairly so, since I think Jade Raymond is a god, and any game made by her should undoubtedly be godlike.] Those retard lepers are really annoying, and the beggar women even more so. Cutscenes being unskippable was a pain [since I like to retry stuff], huge spaces to explore without really changing much was a pain [although I have to say they gave Oblivion a run for its money], the lack of multiple ways to kill a mark was a pain [because you always have to get him in the same way and place], the AI of the guards was a pain [because they don't really surprise you much], the logic behind how you are spotted by them and escape from them was a pain [for some reason there's nothing suspicious about carrying knives on your back except if you run at the same time. And why would sitting on a bench help you disappear?.]

That said, parkour is fantastic, just going anywhere you like. The animations leave me trying to walk like Altair when in a crowded place, and I've got no problem with the combat system making you godlike. The second game will definitely be better, because hopefully Ubisoft will learn more and polish it.

Played it and beat it, fun game and was a nice change from my racing games, but I think I'll be sticking to racing games. Enjoyed the large worlds, the drunks as stated before were definately a pain, but I normally just grabbed em and threw them out of the way when no one was watching. Other than that I think it was a blast, just not something I'm gonna re-play over and over again, thinkin twice was about the limit for me.

The Retards/Drunks and Beggars were a great part of the game, they gave away your cover, and made it so you cannot all the time just walk up to the target.

A lot of guards died by my hand XD
I'm not a stealthy player, I just smash right in, kill all the guards in combat and then chase and kill the target XD

But I find the game gerat overall, it's getting more negative comment then it deserves and it atleast has a new feel.

I normally kill the target, then run.

The most annoying kill had to be Blood of a Teutonic Leader (or whatever)

Stupid water

Most annoying for me was that damn executioner guy. Grr. The retards gave me away over an over. That one with the water, I just tok out the guards quietly, got close to the boat, waited 'til he was busy shooting arrows at something, then took out the guard on the boat, ran on, and took 'em out without him suspecting a thing. :3

Now that I've beaten the game though, man, I love it. xD I'm good and strong enough in combat that I can take on insurmountable odds and win. Let's just say one of the military outposts in The Kingdom area, with 50+ soldiers... yah, there's no one living there anymore. xD Nothing like a fight against 15 or more soldiers at once to get your blood pumping.

I only hated the dock one, because I kept on falling into the water.

The execution was easy, just run up and stab him,
