I notice alot of people use animal names in there SN's, such as NanakiFox, LuninWolf, CrazyCobra or whatever. But when was the last time you saw a type of human in a SN? Such as Super_caucassian or Genx_Italian? o.O

Hm, this is indeed an interesting question. But...what is SN? Did you mean to type SL, as in Second Life?
Either way...I don't play SL, but I do play Furcadia, and I don't use an animal name. I used part of my name, and the color of my hair.

Screen Name?

People like animals more then their race? plus human races have more stereotypes associated with them?

Everyone probably has their own answer

People are afraid to use racial names, unless they are attempting to provoke a fight...and look at the animals used: usually those that have (nowadays) positive, cool, or nonthreatening connotations: wolfs, rabbits,

Ever see somebody use Pigboy, vultureyes, or buzzardbait?

Wolves are cool now, Rabbits are cuddly, Tigers are magestic, Lions all the grand virtues, etc etc, things people want to exemplify themselves.

Of course, I'm nowhere near magestic, but I also find Tigers beautiful, graceful, independant, and excellent Mommas, which are things I want to be.

Ah, yes...the majestic tuna...

Possibly SNs are the same as the online personas they mark - they more or less denote what and/or who the person behind them wants to be, as opposed to what and/or who they are...

Palindromes are fun. Don't forget "Madam I'm Adam."

As for the names, as other people said, our online personas are typically projections of our personality, not who we are on a physical level. Well, except maybe on porn sites, but that's an entirely different ballpark.

Me, my SN is the name of a character. It's how people know me, and even though he's not my fursona anymore, hasn't been for years now, it's kinda stuck. Can't imagine changing it anyway.

Anywho, foxes rule. :)
