(OOC: Alright, this is the main IC thread. I present to you... THE LIST!:

Natives:-

Kit Lance - Human male; ex-Templar; highly skilled command over elemental magic; wears a blue band over his eyes; still has some ties to high ranking Templars; currently struggling to make his way in the world with little money.

Jessica - Keidran female; command over low level 'white magic' (healing, invisibilty, telekinesis); mastery over 'Common' (English language), but knows very little of the Keidran tongue; known as the 'Spirit of Destruction', so don't piss her off.

Manatu Stormail - Keidran male; uses a long katana; very noticably has two tails; somewhat of a freedom fighter; doesn't speak much, mainly because he was never properly taught, so take your chance to insult him in his face without him knowing (jus' kidding).

'Stoneface Killer' - Keidran male; unskilled, but powerful use of fire magic; keeps his eyes closed and/or hidden; skilled in hand-to-hand combat; kills those who stand in his way without remorse; extremely troubled past.

Lance - Human male; proud member of the Assassin's Guild; mid- and short-range fighting capabilities, as well as weak explosives; highly skilled in stealth and various other assassin techniques.

Kiraeden - Keidran male; knows varied white and black magic spells, including healing, fire spells and summoning; quick and agile armed/unarmed fighter; strong willed desire to protect those he cares for; not keen on humans.

Invaders:-

[Please note: changes had to be made to certain characters due to it being Spec-Ops, rather than the conventional military, being sent through into the new world. I've PM'd the relevant people.]

Yuri Avarosky - Male; uses a scoped AK74M, as well as a bayonette; a skilled marksman, which is partially thanks to his constant (if illegal) target practice sessions while he was a young teenager; likes his drink.

Nikolai Deversky - Male; the heavy hitter of the team, he uses an AK101 along with an underslung grenade launcher, as well as a trusty pistol and combat knife; has yet to see any 'real' action, but has plenty of confidence; an extreme patriot (possibly xenophobic?); feels naked without his weapon.

Theo Alexander - Male; uses an AK74M assault rifle and a pistol sidearm; former SAS; a veteran survivalist and highly skilled soldier; wears his own British DPM camo; is fairly comfortable with the Russian language; mentored many Russian soldiers, including those with him on the mission; is somewhat worried about the Russians letting him leave the country after completion of the operation.

Vladimir Karpin - Male; uses a VSS sniper rifle and a PP-19 compact rifle; the only soldier on the team that is Theo's senior; has a somewhat irrational fear of vehicles; a highly skilled medic and has some real accuracy going for him; a veteran soldier.

Isof Putin - Male; uses an SVD sniper rifle and is the designated marksman of the group, as well as a pistol and combat knife; is the only non-Spetsnaz member of the group, but apparently got in due to a combination of amazing accuracy and military cock-up; is very paranoid; perhaps a little too friendly.)

IC:

Azarmas-16, Republic of Russia

The city's old name was back, it was known as Azarma-16 during the Cold War... it was a 'closed city' then. Then it was known as Sarov after the end of the Cold War, but once Kukov took power, Sarov was re-renamed Azarmas-16 and was 'closed' once again.

The city was, and still is, utilised in the design and assembly of nuclear weapons. But it had a additional facility now... a mysterious building had been erected on site. Nobody who worked there could talk about it, even the people who merely gaurded it.

But today, that was going to end.

"Welcome gents. Welcome to what may be the last place on this planet you may ever see." A colonel was giving the briefing. "You have been training for months for this. Now, I am authorized to tell you this: You will be going to a Alternate Universe."

He paused to judge the reaction in the room.

(OOC2: People from the Twokinds world are to RP doing whatever they usually do right now. People from our world are to RP their reactions to this announcement. Just setting the stage people.

Also, dont expect another reply from me for quite awhile. I only have five minutes left on this computer.)

Lance was sitting in a tree, waiting for his mark to come by. Finally the marks carriage was coming, surrounded by 4 templar knights on horses. Finally, been waiting forever. As soon as they were underneath him he drops 4 smoke bombs. They immediately stop and look around. The first knight didn't even notice Lance drop out of the tree. He soon had his throat slit. Unfortunately the horse neighed, alerting the others. Damn, need to keep them here. He quickly jumps onto the carriage and slits the drivers throat. then uses 2 explosive bombs to take out 2 of the knights in the front. Then proceeded to cut his way through the top of the carriage and drop down. With compliments from Count Strickland. He stabs the man through the heart. Then Lance quickly jumps out and disappears into the woods, leaving the last knight alive to tell the tale.

Yuri standing at full attention heard the reply for the colonel, and in all honesties was skeptical and thought he was joking. He wanted to look around to see if anyone else seemed as skeptical as he was, but couldn't. He remembered what he learned one of the first days that he joined the army. Stand at attention, stare straight ahead into the distance, and in never break the line. He thought to himself that someone might anyway, but that meant that his love and respect for Mother Russia was greater than that person. He had dreamed of being in the army and serving his country for his entire life, he was raised with a gun in his hand. He must die for his country if need be. All those who oppose Mother Russia must be crushed. Everything he does from now on is in the name of Mother Russia. Yuri was happy in mind knowing his loyalty to his country was vastly superior to almost anyone in the room.

After he thought about his loyalty, he went back to what the colonel was saying. Alternate Universe? What madness! Another world outside our own? How could that possibly be!? I mean, I heard of these things on the television, but that was all make believe... How could this be? Why would they worry about another universe? Will we invade them? Recruit them in the name of Russia? This is all so exciting! So much possibilities! I might get a chance to kill a being that no man has ever killed before! Hear languages that were never spoken in our world! Wow...

A small smile came upon his face. Yuri stood there, and tried the best he could to be as straight as he could be, and his stare could go right into a man's soul if their eyes were to meet his.

Vlad stared off into space, trying to digest the last bit of what the colonel had just said. After awhile, utter disbelief set in.

This has to be some kind of joke, he thought, High command is just messing with us because we're getting too lax. They'll probably dump us on some island in the Pacific and have us face a bunch of Opfor dressed as aliens or something like that...

At this thought he snickered silently.

((OOC: Hi...I just finished making my profile. Hope you don't mind me hopping in.))

Isof stared straight ahead, silently wondering what his colonel had just said. Maybe the cold air had finally gotten to the higher officers and they had all gone nuts. Isof kept his foolish thoughts to himself. To speak that would get him shot...many, many times. Just listen, Isof thought to himself. You can do this. He began to wonder what this new place was like. Was it cold like Russia? Was it warm like that island so many Americans went to on vacations? What was it called again....Hawaii? It didn't matter now. Isof was soon to find out himself.

Theo stood stock still at the back of the large, almost hanger-like space. All around and in front of him were the elite: a metaphorical handfull of Spetsnaz GRU and the occasional scientist. At the front of this rabble, strongly lit by spotlights and floor lamps, was a lavishly decorated stage; red banners bearing the Russian motherland insignia were draped everywhere, and any gaps between them showed the contrasting black cloth underneath. At the front of this stage was a plinth, itself draped in the Russian colours, and behind it, standing above everyone else in the room, was Colonel Alecsandr Nautov. He was a massive bald man, with a thick beard around his mouth that put any other facial hair in the room to shame; to Theo, he looked like the most stereotyical Russian hard man he'd ever laid eyes upon.
The Colonel made his announcement with a booming voice and huge amount of smug pride plastered on his face. He spoke a very harsh Russian dialect, which Theo had a hard time understanding from way at the back. Hell, the guys just ahead of him looked like they were having trouble themselves. A PA system hadn't been set up, for obvious reasons considering the announcement that was being made, so a lot of the soldiers were struggling hearing this big guy.
Theo wasn't really concentrating on listening anyway, he was too busy trying to think warm thoughts in this ice box of a building, and it didn't matter anyway: he had already been told and shown what was going to happen. He was still having trouble believing it.
He cracked a smile as the Colonel finished talking. All the soldiers were now questioning one another in hushed tones. Had I heard him right? Did he just say what I thought he said? All questions Theo had asked himself when he was given the good news.
What these soldiers didn't know was that many of them wouldn't be going. Not initially at least. Most would be reserves, should one of the advance team be eaten by a dragon or something. The others, wherever they were amongst this ragtag of gruff veterans and young professionals, would know soon enough.

(OOC: Forgive if I've done something wrong here, this is the first time I have RP'd in a forum, and I'm not sure how character interaction is supposed to go...)

Vlad snapped out of his lapse and glanced around at the other personel gathered around him. Most had the classic and understandable looks of surprize and disbelief. One, who stood next to him on his right, had neither. He looked more concerned about the cold than the shocking news that had just been delivered. Vlad nudged Theo with his elbow and said, "What do you make of all this? Big load of B.S. is what I say, though they certainly pulled out all the stops for this 'mission' in terms of production values" He jestured to the large gathering and stage.

((OOC: Her thoughts use the following format ~ Thought ~ ))

Jessica slowly opened one emerald green eye and examined her makeshift shelter thoughtfully. ~It's still daylight? I was hoping I wouldn't wake up till dusk at least... D*** that man, insisting on meeting at noon and fouling up my sleep schedule...~ She felt a tiny flicker of excitement at the thought of Lance, the bandit she often traded goods with. Suddenly her belly voiced it's discontent. ~Mmmmm, hungry. Have to hunt, even if it is daytime...~ With that, the Keidran woman stretched out and pawed at the bed for a few moments, before pushing herself upright. Perking her ears up a bit she grabbed her Dagger from the bedside table and exited the lean-to.

She squinted her eyes slightly as her ears swiveled and took in the sounds around her. She swiftly but silently made her way to the river, true reducing one's scent never really was all that important in remaining hidden from humans, but Keidran and just about anything else could follow a scent trail for miles, and besides, she always felt better after a bath. After setting her dagger in a rather large treehole, she slipped into the crystal clear waters, purring softly. After she was satisfied her shiny ebony fur was immaculate, she grabbed the dagger and settled on a large, flat boulder to dry in the sun.

(OOC: Nah, that's fine, Gank. Although I'm assuming that your character is talking to me in Russian. Next time, and this goes for everyone playing a Russian, place your character's speach within '<>'. Lets me know. )

Theo felt someone nudge his arm, which was a miracle because the cold was making it very hard to feel anything. It was another soldier, smartly dressed in his Russian BDUs. The soldier spoke to him very quickly in Russian, but Theo got enough of it to know what he was talking about. '<Yeah,>' Theo said awkwardly, trying to look as confused as everyone else while picking his words correctly. '<They, eh, get top marks from me for their elaborate set-up.>'
If the soldier didn't know he was foreign now, Theo would have to pull a Union Jack out of his arse and sing 'God Save the Queen'.

Ah, Vlad thought, I thought this guy was a bit strange but I don't know why I didn't see it. Only a foreigner wouldn't be used to the cold here, especially in this climate. He must be an advisor or a specialist...

Vlad spoke to Theo in Russian again, this time a bit slower "<So, what do you know about all this? You obviously aren't here for the free cake and cookies, are you?>"

Theo smiled. '<No, I am not,>' he said, realising that this guy proably hadn't trained under him. '< I was offered to come here and train some of this lot,>' he gestured to the soldiers in front of him. '<I'm former SAS.>' Theo suddenly needed to pee. An annoying side-effect of the unnatural cold. He hesitated for a moment, then removed his gloved hand from the warmth of his armpit and offered it to the soldier. '<It's Theo, by the way. We'll probably be seeing more of each other seeing as your in here, although hopefully in warmer conditions, if you don't mind me saying.>'

(OOC: Just noticed something weird. Whenever you put an 'I' after an '<' and finish your sentence with '>' and post, it does everything you've wrote thereafter in italics, as well as deleting the sentence. So, put a space after the '<' if your character's speech is in Russian and begins with an 'I' (as in, 'I am going over there').
For example, do this: '< I am going over there.>'
If you don't, this happens: '<I am going over there.>'
And everything after it will be in italics like this.)

He lay among the grass beneath a shaded tree fast asleep as the same horrid thought which plagued him for so long jumped into his mind. The image of her was forever eating away at his soul as he awakened calmly raising up from the tall blades of foliage and flowers that had rocked him slowly to sleep a few hours before. Looking up into the blue heavens above him from behind his closed eyes, he crawled to the trunk of the massive tree giving a sigh of satisfaction as a gentle breeze brushed up gently against his body. ‘How could something so beautiful be present in time of such turmoil,’ he thought to himself, rubbing his gloved hand in the emerald green blades beside him. He rocked his head back once more, the wind playing in his fur as it soared around his body and away again. The smell of blood was lingering in his nose as was the taste from yesterdays encounter. Glancing down towards were his hands rested he brought them to his mouth one by one licking the dried blood from his gloved knuckles and finger tips. Known as the “Stone Face killer” he refused to deny nor except the title for no one knew what else to refer to him by, for only few have ever knew his name. Licking on his bloodied “paws” he leaned back throwing his hands behind hip to support his head as he leaned up against the trunk of the tree. How could he feel so calm and so relaxed at a time like this? He questioned himself, his tail swishing lazily as he let himself go in thought.

Vlad took Theo's hand and shook it firmly. "<Vladimir Karpin, or just Vlad if that's too much a mouthful (grinning as he says this). I look forward to working with you, and if I have any idea of what is going on here I figure where we are going is going to be plenty warm.>" Vlad paused, then said in a grossly overexagerated English accent "<SAS huh? So what are you here advise us about? How tea should be properly consumed in this 'Alternate Universe' we're heading off into?>" He then snickered at his own bad joke.

He was jumping from tree to tree when he catches a whiff of blood. He stops and looks around. Then he looks directly down and spots a kiedran. Hmm, I have another job to do, and we of the assassination guild have no quarrel with kiedrans. I might be able to use this keidran. My next mark is heavily guarded, so maybe I can use him as a distraction. He thinks for a few more minutes before speaking. Oi! You down there. I have a job for you, and if you accept I'll pay you 100 gold upon completion. What do you say?

Yuri's concentration was broken hearing people beside him talking. What fools! Have they no respect for The Motherland!? Disrespect! They are given the once in a lifetime chance to do something great for Mother Russia! And they act as if it was like high school! Fools! Then it hit him, that moment he realized he changed from how he was when he was a teenager. He frowned, keeping his dead stare forward. Under his breath he muttered <disrespecting pigs...>
