There are many laws of magic. All of which cannot even be bent without great retribution. But a young mage in training, overconfident of his skills does something strictly forbidden by any mortal. He tried to access the powers of the underworld through dark magic. A power that was beyond any mortal to comprehend, and he paid the price. When the incantation turned against him almost immediately he tried to shut it off, but it was too late. The dark energies released from the magic engulfed him.
But, death is not a punishment worthy of his crimes. He broke the laws of magic. And he had to pay both in the flesh and spirit. His soul was ripped from his body in the cruelest way imaginable. And then the same tendrils tore his arms from their sockets. Without his soul the dark energies infested his body. In an instant his body mutated from the infestation.
When he awoke he didn't know what had happened. His face was the same. But he knew something was horribly wrong. He had features on his body that were the same of those on a demon.
His arms were still gone, but easily fixed. He was able to build mechanical replicas of his arms and fit them to his body. After that he knew he had to leave. If his master found out what he had done the whole clan would try to kill him. Shamed and afraid, he fled.
He had once read in one of the ancient tomes at the temple of a crystal that could grant anyone a single wish. Maybe, if he could get his soul back, all these horrible changes would be reversed. Otherwise he would be forced to wander the world aimlessly as a demon.

Skills-Effective in dark magic as well as elemental control. Effective hand-to-hand and weapons handler.
Advantages-Immortal (no soul), incredible strength and speed, animalistic senses.
Weaknessess-Anything holy, light magic, the sun makes him weak
Weapons-His mechanical arms have sharp blades that sprout from the fingertips as well as two swords that are in the wrists. He also carries a longsword.
Bio-Rane was born in a small town. His father was a mechanical technician, and Rane loved to watch his dad work. After several years Rane became very good with building machines. He moved away from home at sixteen years of age to apply as a mage in the temple near his home. He was incredibly gifted in the arts of magic, and he quickly became a student there. But his gifts made him arrogant, which led to him attempting to use dark magic.
Appearance-Rane is about six foot two. His short, spiky hair used to be brown, but his mutation changed it to pitch black with blood red streaks in it. He has his human ears, but also the cat-like ears of a demon on his head. His red eyes and snake-like pupils are his most frightening feature. His arms are mechanical and are incredibly powerful as well as deadly. He wears a lightly armored suit of black cloth covered by a dark crimson overcloak. His most noticable feature are the horizontal tiger stripes on his cheeks. This is whatmost identifies him as a demon.
Special Abilities-Telekinesis, can both phase through olid matter as well as into people and inhabit their bodies (it only works with humans)
