I see Keith and Natani hitting it off soon. Natani seems to like Keith but I'm guessing here don't throw me in the soup But it will interesting to see where they go.

Haha, the Female basitian's got a crush on Keith it seems, but im surprised at how Natani handled it, no "BACK OFF HE'S MINE!!!" :?

Then again her tail is wagging like it could start a hurricane :D , obviously out of Keith's interest (if you want to call it that) in her

heh it's good to see that Natani's tail can still be a source of entertainment it has certainly been awhile.

hmm.... Keith seems to unsuprised about the blindfold must be a common thing for the basitin troops

I'm with you on that one. It is time. We've been over a week without a "Poor Mike."

Okay, I stand corrected on where Keith learned that move, but I feel vindicated as to our female Basitin's motives. I'm not surprised that Natani didn't react in a more humorous fashion; she's still confused as to her feelings toward Keith anyway, and that wasn't a situation where she'd react without thinking. But please Tom, let's see somebody actually start flirting with Keith. Stories move quickly through the female population of an area, and Keith may just have marked himself as a very eligible bachelor. I want to see the unattached women vie for his favor! I want to see Natani struggle with this and, on the verge of losing him, realize her feelings and admit them to Keith. I want to see Keith return the affection and they live happily ever after. Come on, Natani -- you're a xenophile. Admit it!

So, uh, fighting blind, or a headband that fell over the guard's eyes? Ockham's Razor says that the "blindfold" was probably nothing of the sort. I'm thinking it's a headband. That helmet would hold heat in and make sweat drip into your eyes something awful without something keeping it out.

It seems that the general doesn't practice nepotism.

And I love the formal respect between the two Basitin there. I'm kind of liking their culture. It seems, on the surface, to be completely ordered and unforgiving, but underneath there are a lot of 'ordered' ways for people to be themselves and go against authority. There's always an 'out', even if it's supposedly impossible.

Also - the female seemed very, very attracted - to the fighting. Maybe in such a war-based society, fighting has an almost... sexual appeal?

Good fighters would be prized mates anyway.

Other than that, I also think that Tom has done a great job with creating a very believable and interesting culture. And as usual, the art is top notch. :P
