I've been wondering about this for a while, but why do the admins who have resigned or just gone AWOL for a year or more still have their names listed in the admins to contact under each board? I know Maloo and nanaki both resigned for sure, and Kookookachoo, JTCougar, and ktemkin haven't been around since mid-2007 and as far back as 2005.

I'm wondering why their names are still in the lists of admins to contact. Not to disrespect any of them, but it just seems like confusing clutter. I think if they're not intending to participate as admins, they should simply be removed from the lists leaving only the active admins' names. I mean no disrespect, and hope I don't get rebuffed for asking the question, but shouldn't there be some kind of de-cluttering of the forum index?

I've thought about this too. Folks like Maloo headed off to the IRC a long time ago, and I believe others just left. The mods should clean the idle clutter.

I agree, just makes it hard to know who to message about issues sometimes. Would be a lil helpful. If they wanted the old mods to keep credit couldn't they create a user group for retired mods or something along those lines?

Yeah, that'd make sense. They really need to be cleaned out, it's confusing for newcomers and idiots. :)

(o_o) Jeez, once you take away all of the inactive mods you just end up with Tom, Sage, Yash, Delusional and Luca. And the bulk of the boards are being run solely by Sage.

Yowza, that boy needs to be pulling in a paycheck for that.

All in favor of Fast becoming moderator?

I highly doubt Fast would even want to be a mod. I think that that job would suck.

As I have told you before, FastChapter would probably be an exelent mod. Chanses are that he and Yash would probably start a war though. And the Forum would be left as a scarred wasteland devoid of almost any life. So no, I for one am not in favor.

You forgot me. :( Just because I'm all alone in my solitary domain doesn't mean I don't exist. xP

I'm all in favor of cleaning the mod lists, just for clarity's sake. Though I still miss KooKooCachoo...

Sorry! I even went over the index to be sure I hadn't missed anyone, lol. Good lord I must be blind.

@Adjutant, Sithil, & Check: Awkward, much? I wouldn't mind it, and I think about the dumbest thing I could do if that were to happen would get in a scrap with other mods, but that's not the objective of this thread.

It's Tokyo, they'll have their robots build another tower the next day.

Yeah, it would undoubtedly focus more eyes on you as the admin to contact when questions are asked, but that is the point of being an admin isn't it? The necessary evil of having five newbies a day PM you trying to figure out why their signatures are too long, how come avatars won't fit, and whether or not you can ban that big meanie who called them a stupid-head in that one thread.

When I was new, I was sending PMs to Maloo trying to figure out how to do things, or trying to bring his attention to problems on the forums. It took me a while to figure out he simply wasn't lazy, didn't care, or was never on, but that he had actually quit his position as an admin and I had been flooding his and others' inboxes to no avail.

You don't want to be a mod, it ain't fun. You're expected to do work on the forum, and have to look in threads you really don't want to. I'm perfectly willing to take the bullet of becoming Moderator to save FastChapter the horror.

Seriously though, disregard that last sentence. Moderatorship is only nice in that you get to abuse power and have exclusive access to the secret Mod porn board.
