i'd like to know why the 2kinds forum doesn't do daylight savings time? i had to change from GT -8:00 to GMT -7:00 to make the time right.

I think that this is because the system isn't programmed for it. Beside, it's not the whole planet that do this early change of time. Some country don't do do daylight savings time at all. The USA new rules aren't law on the whole planet, think to the other people. It's a world wide website, so it's work under some special rules.

Catherine's right. You'll note that in your profile you just list your difference from GMT? The system isn't designed to "know" timezones, let alone if or when timezones change their offset. It just keeps track of GMT and lets your profile do the math to display the proper time. It's much faster this way, though it isn't necessarily as convenient for citizens of countries which utilize things like Daylight Savings.
