Here's the thing, I've been trying to put up an avatar for some time now but can't. I have followed the requirements and have fixed it all up, but it still refuses because it isn't .gif, .jpg, or .png files. The only paint program I have on this computer of mine is the basic MS Paint, and it only does .bmp.

I'm just wondering if anyone here knows a way for me to still put this avatar up. I would really appreate it. Especially since it invovles my avatar.

You are mistaken. You can save in a variety of formats with MS Paint. Simply go to File>Save As and select your prefered format.

Older versions of paint couldn't save in newer file formats, unfortunately. =/

Ryu: BMP is uncompressed meaning it's bigger than other filesizes, and that's why it isn't allowed. You can download the GIMP to save it as PNG or JPG if you'd like.

;_; My computer is mean! It won't allow me to download the Gimp program due to it's lack of RAM, and I tried to change the format manually and that didn't work. I need a job.... then I can buy myself a better computer... one that actually works!

o_O How much RAM do you have? You would have to have an exceptionally low amount to not be able to run it.

"Sanguine my brother..."

- Explain what you are doing in more detail- if you are simply saving an animated gif from a website and what are you opening it with - or are you saving an animated gif in a program...

How old is your computer? If its really old theres no freakn way you have 4GBs of RAM -- my computer is brand new- built it myself and the max it can hold is 4GBs (with 4 1GB memory DIMMs)

And from how it sounds you hardly have a computer good enough to be worth using with 4GBs...

Do you mean 4 Megabytes? The GIMP could probably run on 128 Megabytes, which is very roughly maybe 1/35 of 4 Gigabytes.

(1 gig = 1024 megabytes, I can play almost any new game with decent graphics with 512 megabytes of RAM)

I've been having some problems uploading an avatar on myself. I'll chose an avatar that I have on my machine, select it, hit the confirm button, then I'll get sent to a page that has four or five different error messages on the top that say that they can't upload it because of errors in messaging. I want to get the pic below loaded as it.

EDIT-ARRRGGHHH! It's a pic of Aisha Clanclan, that I got from Photobucket.

EDIT 2-Never mind, I just went straight to the source and did an out-of-site photolink.

Um, you know that you can't link to files that are on your computer? They actually have to be on the internet, as we can't see your harddrive. :P

...Then why is there a place to "Upload an image from your machine"?
