Second one in the whole history of Finland - first in Jokela (around a year ago), now Kauhajoki.
I'll sum everything I gathered during the day here...
-The shooter was a 22-year local student, Matti Juhani Saari. He belongs to a misanthropy group, likes guns, sex and beer (according to himself).
-Had been planning the event since 2002.
-He had recently bought his first gun and published pictures and threatening videos on Finnish photo-gallery and YouTube (very similiar to "Sturmgeist86"s), although had no messages or notes about his motives. The police had taken him into questioning on Monday, but "saw no reason to confiscate his weapon" and released him.
-Today (Tuesday) around midday, he walked into a school classroom full of students working on assays and began shooting.
-Tried to set school on fire with Molotov cocktails he had brought with him.
-10 dead, two injured. Shot himself into head and was carried into hospital.
-Died in the hospital about an hour later.
-Tomorrow there will be cake and grief counseling in every school again.
The staff of IRC-gallery (the finnish photo gallery) had reported this man to the police, who eventually did nothing, even though publishing such video should be enough to prove that this man should not carry a gun (he had a license, too). Yet the police and school ministry blame on mental departments having too little money to cover all this!
Also, why the hell can't these people already learn to properly shoot themselves without struggling for their lives for the next few hours?
I'm not going to go through all the discussion about the shooter's mentality. Not yet, at least. Right now I'm too saddened and pissed off to really to, but allow me to express my disgust towards these people once again... If their hatred against humanity is so great, why not point the gun at the nearest human being instead of a whole class? Like for example, at
themselves?
