Its quite intresting...After 5 years of absnce i go back to runescape...I was in the center of varrock...ANd the first words i hear

WARNING:NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART

"GO **** YOUR MOM YOU GAY NOOB LOL!"

"Naw you go im not like you LOLOLOLOL"

"Ha nice comback Dickwad"

I wont copy the rest it may break every rule the forum has left. This is todays society?Cripped to barbaric 13 year old kids who think there cool?I admit i play runescape but not because im a nerd. Its because frankly it is fun but what the hell is wrong with the society today?

I know ive known its been bad but to be so low your barbarians....We offically are de-evolutionizing...

The rest of the conversation proves it...Talking about how your parents are gay and how your gay and the overuse of "Gay"

Even i used it misplacingly a few days ago...Its posoning the world...

About 10 years late for this thread. The internet has always been that way ever since it became rather freely available.

It may be because you might have gotten more mature during those 5 years, and you're realizing how bad things were back then. Everyone has those moments where you go "Geez, it was like that?", no?

Not sure if it's an accurate reflection of society as a whole, or just that particular segment...
Considering that most adults don't have the time to play MMOs...and that most who do don't seem to be very "chatty" (they seem to keep it to whispers amongst party members)...I'd say that your assessment that they were "13 year old kids who think they're cool" is probably dead-on...and, honestly, convos like that have always been par for the course within that particular demographic...

It's a vulgar conversation, but it's hardly anything new...the only new thing about it is that instead of being relegated to the locker room or hallway, the convo is now available for the whole world to see. So, in essence, it is not society that is sliding down the moral slope, but simply that technology is making it obvious as to how far down it we've been all along...
;3

You hate how people act, yet you're one of the people whose acting everyone else 'hates'?

Plenty of time I have wasted on RuneScape (Heck, previous to the Bunny ears holiday in RSC); and with time, more and more people came... and more and more 13- year olds as it would seem. I haven't played other MMO(RPG)'s, but I think, community wise, RS is one of the best examples of the lowest standards (at the very least in Free Worlds). Member worlds you can at elast find decent convo's here and there.

You're giving the prime example of why I try to do everything inefficient/abnormally, just so I can be in a deserted part of RuneScape xD . Training is slower, but that doesn't bother me, I'm keeping myself busy away from people :P .

i quit runescape a couple years ago and since i've been noticing a growing pile of complaints. Maybe Jagex is losing there touch. First they remove PKing (I don't really care bout that), now the community is going down the drain.

Waiting for Nov. 13th.

Oh dear, FastChapter, what did you do?

I try not to meddle in the problems and complains of the community, but I must agree that their latest releases have been... not so good. I actually love that PKing is gone (I hate PvP), but the current Revenants are FAR WORSE than pkers ever were... And well, yea, their latest quests haven't been fun, or spectacular or anything like that.

Cheating, mainly. Didn't like the game much to begin with, since it was just a series of polygons bumping other polygons of different color. Found some trainers and went nuts for a while.

Cheating in RuneScape, now that I never figured out how. Unless Jagex codes it themselves, it should be impossible :P .

And the latest HD graphics, no way you're telling me those are bad graphics. Unless you lived through RSC, even those before HD were great!
Also, if you were to compare, take any other Java or browser based game, not games like WoW, Lineage, etc.

cheating in a game like runescape just ruins the fun. The core of the game is the challenge of completing the quests (not challenging if you maxed out on everything) and castle wars... lots and lots of castle wars.

I got over it, :)

If I want to quest my eyes out, I'll play WoW.

Wow thinking about it, I have not been on runescape in 6 or 7 years, which is funny because the username I have now, I came up when I was signing up for a runescape account. Ah nostalgia....

I quit runscape 3 years ago when i was *Cough*ten*cough*

Mostly because i was actually smarter and more decent then the 13 year old kids....And i was 10.....They thought i was 15 or something and when i told them i was 10 they were laughing saying yeah right go cry to your mom...Since then i quit but when i heard the graphics were better i went back so im playing every few days or so...

But yeah i see how society has fallen a bit on the internet....I guess i was too young to realize it already did.
