Hey, I'm trying to make my own sig for once rather than using a Blotch art piece, and I'm hitting a roadblock.

Right now I have this for a design, which looks neat I think but is too bland with the white background and all. I'm pretty sure I saw this on a bumper sticker before, but with red and yellow flame decals.

Anyone know how I can grab this and put it on an existing image without that white background? I'm still tinkering with Gimp and things are unsteady at best.

Edit: Know what, I might be better of putting that in white text on a rainbow background...

I need to find a decent image of flame decals, though... I hate that black stuff.

...Why is this in the media board? Should be in either Drawing, for the sig art, or in Ranting, for the...ranting^^

Not exactly, no. What I need to know is how you get those pockets of white background out from inside the letters. Once I figure that out, I should be able to finish up.

Thus far I can get the image itself separated from the background around it, but the landlocked chunks are being impossible.

Crap sorry you are using gimp right? Can't help you there sorry 'bout that. I used photoshop. If you still wanted to know I used the magic wand tool and the shift key.

Well maybe you could use your fancy powers to overlay the top image I have over its background? That's the only place I'm stuck at, and layers confuse me to death.

And fill in the background white with this:

Oh, shift and select... crap, I was CTRLing it for some reason.

I got it!

Edit: Hm... bit too... insanely bright. And huge. And isn't kosher with my avatar.

*headscratch* Ehh, maybe not.

If anybody else wants to tinker with it and make it their own, have at it. I think this one's a bit much.

No kidding. It looked like a good idea at the time, but then I stuck it on the sig and BOOM it was like a colorsplosion.

I'm gonna jump back to the Blotch sigs just because they blend well. Oh well, I learned a few techniques on Gimp tonight.

Edit: All better. I'll have to throw on a border or something tomorrow morning. I'm beat.

No, that's fine. I'll relegate this project to my photobucket and call it an experience, :P

I'm just bored with my sig. Need to find my old ones or something.

Next time, when you need help with gimp, call me ¬.¬ Anyway, if you want something new, but with Blotch's picture, you can do a 'family picture' ^^ Like putting all your favorite characters in a sig
