It's not bad enough to describe this movie.

It's like they're taking my childhood, bending it over, and sodomizing it with an iron rod.

What did I ever to to you?

You have money that they want, and they're going to keep sodomizing until they get it. :P

Is it out? Well, I'm seeing it anyway, just for the colorfulness and the damned monkey.

I have to admit, I agree with Ryusen, but I'm still gonna see it. I doubt it'll be as wonderful as Alvin and the Chipmunks (Can't believe my fam didn't want to see it), but it can't be too bad...I mean, it was made by the Matrix brothers, so how bad could it be?

It's not even out... so how exactly do you know if you don't like it? Had to check Y! Movies to be sure.

I want to see it just cause I used to watch the cartoon, and they're making it just as insanely overdone as it originally was.

You know, you guys are making a better case for me to go see this than anything I've heard so far. But, I do so love a train wreck of a movie. Well, provided it's got decent pacing, but Hollywood movies actually have editors, so they usually don't drag too bad.

'Somni, no offense, but are you even old enough to remember the Chipmonks? I remember the "Berlin Wall" episode. That was epic. It's my only real memory of any mention of the wall while it was still standing.

You don't want me to answer that. :P

Now, if it was a cartoon movie, that would be one thing. I grew up with Speed Racer as a cartoon, and I doubt I'll feel the same way about a live action movie if they can't do the crazy-face-pause scenes -- you know the ones I'm talking about.

How are people saying it is awful when it is not due to be released for another month? Don't you mean it looks like it will be awful?
XD

Like some, I'm going to go see it just to see how bad it can be...shoot, if I saw Kung Pow - Enter the Fist in the theater, I can see this...even if it DOES look like Mario Kart on crack...
XD

My husband, who remembers Speedracer from its first run, was giggling with glee when he saw the previews. He was especially proud of the dueling tires. "Straight from the toon" were his words.

And of course, every scene with Racer X MUST open with an announcer telling us his backstory. :P
