IMDb wrote:
Robert Neville (Will Smith) is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable, and man-made. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague -- The Infected -- lurk in the shadows... watching Neville's every move... waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But he knows he is outnumbered... and quickly running out of time.

Looks pretty good from the trailer.

*Spoilers- sort of*

A man-made virus wipes out the population of New York City, leaving Robert Neville (Will Smith) the last human survivor in the city and possibly the world. Neville lives alone for three years, attempting to contact and find other possible survivors. He is watched by the Infected, mutant victims of the plague. Neville works to find a way to create a cure using his own immune blood, but he finds himself outnumbered by the Infected and running out of time.

That's mutant movie.
Zombies are undead, mutants are horribly mutated.
There is a difference!
But I look forward to this, WIll is a good actor and I can't wait to see him in a mutant horror film.

Zombies, mutants, they're all the same basic principle. Either way, this looks pretty sweet.

The book was the inspiration for Omega Man, starring the gun-totin' Charlton Heston - a classic that was in need of an update...

Supposedly, the book also has had a major influence on all of the notable zombie/vampire/horror books and movies of the last half-century - big shoes to fill, indeed.

This movie looks pretty bloody excellant. Of course, a guy would go crazy, alone for what did he say? 1001 days? Not many people would retain their sanity after that long, y'know. I'm probably one of them, but just sayin'...

He put up mannequins in stores he visits according to one of the trailers. Gotta have someone to talk to, even if they don't talk back.

EXACTLY what I was thinking! =D

My Granny, who doesn't watch ANY movies other than the Christian types, loves Will Smith's movies. I don't know if she'd watch this one but she did watch Hitch.

In the book the things were technically vampires if I remember.
But yeah it did have a big influence (especially on ZOMBIE stuff) on those things you mentioned.

Hope the movie will be good!

Looked good....anyone wonder how they got a frigging SR-71 Blackbird on the roof of a building? Next to what looked like an F-14? It's that segment when he's golfing, you can see the verticla stabiliser of the blakbird in the background and it' clearly on a rooftop from what I could see

(I'll keep my thoughts on the technical imbossilibity of where's he's standing on the aircraft to myself)

It could be on some kind of aircraft carrier. The white markings between the F-14 and the black plane, whatever model it is, looks like the markings of a flight deck. And, there's lots of water in the background, and the buildings in New York aren't that close to the water. (As for being on the part of the aircraft he's standing on, the tails of most of the military aircraft are low enough to the ground for it to be quite possible^^).

Wait - the Blackbirds are decommissioned...

*Goes to check all Blackbird locations*

It seems that he is playing golf on the deck of the USS Intrepid. It is presently the highlight of the Intrepid Museum, in New York Harbor.
Check it out!
