I saw this movie two days ago and dear Lord is it amazing! One of the best new movies I've seen! It's definitely a fairy-tale for adults what with all the violence and shooting and stuff in it. Some parts were very suspenseful and had me literally at the edge of my seat while others were very moving.

Has anyone else seen this movie? If not, I suggest you spend the eight bucks a ticket costs and go watch it right away! By the way, the entire movie is in Spanish but has English subtitles.

"Pan's Labyrinth" is the story of a young girl who travels with her pregnant mother to live with her mother's new husband in a rural area up North in Spain, 1944, after Franco's victory. The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin. Post-war Fascist repression is at its height in rural Spain and the girl must come to terms with that through a fable of her own.

And here's something that might seem like a spoiler, but it's the first thing you see when the movie starts! Ofelia (the girl) is dead with blood comin' out of her nose. My brother told me that and I had to see it to find out why!

Also, the ending may be grim depending on how you look at it.[/img]

Very good movie! My friends and I loved it as well.

We had a few angry adults at our cinema because they had brought their nine or six year old child to watch it and it turned out to be too violent for them. Parents should pay attention to the rating, it's there so YOU don't have to go through the trouble to find out for yourself if it's suitable for your children or not.

I liked the monsters and the Faun in the movie, they were neat.

The only way this movie could be any better is if one could get in for free...sometimes I love working at the theater. But despite the fact that its been out for serveral weeks, its still one of our best selling movies (except for Breach, that is). Great storyline, you really get involved with the characters. And the ending was so dramatic...but I won't spoil anything. If you havnt seen it, get a friend and go. Now. Why are you still reading this? Go.
