This show is ridiculous, and if it were the other way around, it would be touted as such an extremely offensive show that it would be taken off the air.

It just looks like they are playing down to white people, putting them in this place of lower apprenticeship to the high and great black rappers. All they do is link this rap with being black, that has nothing to do with music itself. This whole show is based around being black, instead of your talent in "rap" which I don't care for. Right now in the show they are doing a game show about who can guess the right answer about the black culture. What does that have to do with rap??

They constantly take all of this so seriously, its frustrating...very very frustrating. In one of their questions, I believe it was who was the most important to black people. Of course they said MLK...but what about Abraham Lincoln? They listed 5 of the most important, all of them being black, but of course the single most important of them all wasn't listed cause he was white.

Im so sick of all this "RACE" stuff going around. If people would just SHUT UP ABOUT IT!! maybe it wouldn't constantly be such an issue. Your never going to get rid of a certain type of person, a racist, murderer, thief, Nazi, anything... But theres always this constant issue of Race in all of this. This whole show, all of this hip hop stuff...At the begging of this show they gave the rappers a saltine cracker, and this mayonnaise jar. And Im not supposed to find this offensive because im white right? Because only white people deserve the race jokes and insults.

I'm not entirely sure even how to rant about this show, but Its just frustrating.

I agree for the most part. The thing I disagree with is:I'm assuming you said Lincoln because of the Civil War/Emancipation proclamation, but the thing is, is that he didn't do all that much. The Civil War was more a war of money and politics than anything. The North wanted a short victorious war to boost morale, and also because if they could destroy the South's economy(which they did) they could buy up it's resources for next to nothing. The south wanted to keep slavery because it was a matter of money. If they lost slaves, they would have little to no workers, and would lose a lot. Once the war got into full swing and everybody really started to realize what they'd gotten themselves into, it was too late to stop it until someone won. As far as the Emancipation Proclamation goes, that in and of itself was a northern stunt to get the British off their backs. The British were leaning towards helping the South, who at that time was the underdog, but when the war became about slavery, then they couldn't do anything either way, because they had slaves too. And for another thing, the EP did nothing because it only affected the North's jurisdiction, and as far as the South was concerned, they were a whole different country. So yeah, I don't give that much credit to Abe as I do later people who go the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments passed, as well as peoples like MLK. Sorry for the civil war rant, I just had to get that out of my system. :)

I don't know... This might be about a TV show but it is definitely a rant! I imagine it'd belong in the ranting board.

You shouldn't discriminate based on race, true enough, but you shouldn't flat-out ignore it either. You're right, the show seems a tad tasteless, but there'll always be shows designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Lump it in with Jerry Springer, Temptation Island and the rest of the trash reality shows.

What is it about this show that makes your blood boil? The fact that they're making an issue that the rappers are white, while the stereotypical rapper isn't? That's the way things are, from what I can see from this side of the pond. Rap is cool. Most of the most popular rappers are black. Kids want to act like their idols.

Whether this show is pulling the piss or is taking itself seriously seems to be the real question. If it's making fun of the situation, then yeah it's in poor taste, but nothing to get hyped over. If it really thinks that teaching the white rappers to act black would make them better rappers, then it's trash, and should just be ignored.

I think he's trying to make the point that if it was a white person who did this (either talking about black people or talking about white people), they'd be pulled off the air and fined.

the way i see it, in America and Britain, it's better to be a minority because people are too scared of being called racist to do anything about it, but if you, as a member of a minority, do something racist to an extent, once again, no one will challenge you because, once again, they'll be too scare of being called racist themselves if they call you racist.

I'm a Googlist =D which technically, puts me in a minority. Part of the reason I'm Googlist =p
