Question: Why? Connery is the origional bond, dude. How can one say such cruel things about the man?

An american bond? No We need an Irish bond. English bond has been done too many times what do you guys think?

Haven't there been any Irish Bonds? There haven't been many English ones. I'm pretty sure Craig's either the second or the third. Roger Moore is English. Connery is Scottish, and Brosnan's Welsh. What's Dalton's nationality? And who am I forgetting?

Why do you say that? It's not even out yet. Do you have a justification for your statement?

Two words. Casino Royale. Sucked.

Casino Royale was awesome! It was the beginning of Bond! He flipped a freaking $200,000 car!

Listen to me, when you continue a good movie series, it gets suckier and suckier through loss of ideas OR, repeated trash.

It's only a matter of time before Bond goes to his grave.

Nah.

Casino Royale wasn't a sequel, it was a film to the first James Bond novel.

Prequel made as a sequel which is really a prequel?

No, not a prequel to anything. It's simply Episode One of James Bond.

This novel turned to film to show Bond's origins. If you remember from the movie, he wasn't considered a 00-Agent because he hadn't yet made two kills.

I can understand them wanting to do something different and turn back the pages so to speak on the movie franchise, but still... A part of me died when I saw Casino Royale. It was a good movie for what it was, but the diehard Bond fan in me was screaming "NUUUUU!!" I love a lot of the old Bond movies (Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan are my fav Bond actors), I had absolutely loved Die Another Day, and was hoping for more Pierce Brosnan Bond action, but then that movie came out and I was dissapointed. Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to this next one.

idk, the new bond, accompanied by a more realistic storyline helped alot. I like how they are trying to make it seem more real. and not adding things such as machine guns in the car, and invisibility.

Has anyone here actually read the books?
o.o

How many actually knew that the movies were based on books in the first place?
XD

That kinda takes care of the whole "sequels running out of ideas" angle, since they're not really sequels, but simply motion picture versions of original literature - nobody had to think up anything to make the movie - the story had already existed for years and years...

...and, if I remember correctly, some of the crazy weapons in the movies were actually in the books (although not to the same extent, or taken to such extremes)...

My question is whether they are going to continue this trend of a more "practical" Bond, and possibly go back and redo some of the books that already have movies based on them? Could you imagine a more "realistic" Moonraker?
XD

I always adored Sean Connery as an actor, and as a Bond, he had plenty of menace. Menace mixed with that easy charm.....yeah, dangerous combo.

And Pierce? ooooooooh. Pardon me, I now have to mop up my computer....

.......there were other Bonds?  :P
