I'm not sure if any of you have ever been to Zazzle before, but if you've ever wanted to design your own clothing rather than buy whatever's closest to your idea, this is a pretty good place to do it at.

Heck, even if you don't aim to buy or sell anything, you can have fun putting together your own designs and screencapping them for the forum. It's pretty cool stuff, ^^

I put this together a few minutes ago, just for kicks. I figure, hey, if someone wants to buy it then more power to them. If you've ever had an English course that involved phonemic transliteration, you'll get the sticker.

If not, quick translation: "If you can read this, you've been tailgating me for too long."

My first reaction would be more along the lines of "damn foreigners." >___>
'cause it sure as hell doesn't look like English XD

^^ Well, technically it is English. And any other language you want it to be. Each symbol represents a sound made in language. There are 38 individual sounds in the English language alone, contrary to our 24 letters of the alphabet.

Mind you, letters do not represent sounds in our language. They are symbols that give each other meaning, and which we translate into sound.

Example: the word "face" isn't pronounced "f-ay-k-ee."

For each sound you can make, there's a symbol to correspond. A lot of them come from the Latin alphabet, and that's what you're seeing in that bumper sticker, :3

*lol* Well considering my current professor could give Ben Stein a run for his money in the "Dry Humor Marathon," I'd rather not take up that set of reigns.

The only downside to using Zazzle for shirts is that they're so darn expensive. Upwards of $20 for a single t-shirt. That's out of my budget for just about any worn piece of clothing. It'd have to be damned good for me to actually want to spend that coin for one item.

Hey, when you're a kid, and the only intelligent conversation is the dictionary, don't knock it. :P

Seriously, as a kid I would read the dictionary, because I'd already devoured all other reading material, including the encyclopedias.

You're probably very familiar then with the methods most dictionaries use to show the pronunciation of words, :)

I must have the wrong dictionaries, I've never seen that wierd symbol being used for "th"

Also, on the site, the sticker doesn't match the translation you gave. HA!

It does the way I say it, so it's transliterated just fine! ^^

A few symbols are interchangeable as well. But then again, /δ/ represents the "th" sound in words like "then, either and bathe," where you make a voiced buzzing sound. If you were expecting a /Ѳ/, those are reserved for "thin, ether and froth" that are unvoiced.
