What is Ventrillo, though? Sounded like a WoW thing, or something...

Vent is a voice-over IP service, kind of like Skype. Basically it's a glorified voice chat system like MSN messenger, but without the ads, pretty buttons, etc. The IRC of VOIP.

You can use it for any game, since it runs independent of any program. Heck, you can yell at people no matter what they're doing. :3
