A bunch of internet nerds with some misguided sense of self-righteousness lined against a pseudo-religion. I just can't bring myself to care.

To comment on the Palin-Anon thing: The sad thing is, since she was hacked, the underhanded emails she was making on her private account are likely to get less attention than they deserve.

Anonymous is a group of users on 4chan who post anonymously. They are generally [censored], stalkers, and you do NOT want to piss them off. Responsible for so many memes it's not even funny.

it's like two supervillains fighting each other. The part of Anonymous going after scientology, though, is a lot nicer than the church. And they get win points for being nerds.
Actually there are two factions within Anonymous. Project Chanology, the protest against Scientology; and The Internet Hate Machine, the immature pricks that get their kicks by raising hell, but they are not the majority.
What about the people who are there only for the pictures...you know, with it being a picture-posting site and all...

There's this Anon, there's that Anon, there's also those Anon over there. Anonymous is nobody and everybody.

Before *chaners joined, protesters of scientology are known to have their cats drowned, life ruined, voice suppressed. Protesting as Anonymous, however gave the protesters freedom they never had before - since they are nobodies, they now don't have to fear Scientology's "fair game" scare tactics, which track individuals and harrass them. This is what makes Chanology successful like no other campaign.

Not that Project Chanology is completely anonymous, they are more pseudonymous I think, although they adopted the Anonymous moniker and modus operandi as a collective.

Meanwhile though, another group is sponsoring yet another Chinese new year gala. Who knows if they are really an evil cult, or just another harmless buddhism-inspired spiritual hobby group? There's only one truth...

Note that the "Anonymous" may not be truly so. While it might have just been an Anon member / ED being a dick, there's rumor that Scientology killed a stray cat an Anon member was feeding. Cat was found dead, and decent quantities of ammonia was found in the food they had left outside for it.

This is unconfirmed, though [Both the cat's existence and death, and Scientology being the killers instead of some "I hate wild animals" neighbor]. Still, it would not surprise me considering Scientology has been suspect for several murders including flooding houses with carbon monoxide of opponents who seem to be having no troubles to warrant suicide, murdering a man in his apartment and attempting to remove the identity by putting them in water so hot it melted away all their skin, etc.

In fact, there's a large number of deaths that could be linked to Scientology. "Whyaretheydead" or something is the website's name, I think?
