Pardon, but what the deuce is wrong with people?

Firstly, if America hadn't "won" the war of 1812, why are we still here, still independent, and speaking with American Accents?

Yes darlings, you ALL have accents. If a person speaks, it is with an accent, because Every region speaks their languages a little differently. Usually with similar inflections based upon the region in which they learned said language *and it really doesn't matter WHAT language*.

See?

The war was never about "reconquering america" it started because of impressment of american sailors and our neutral trade with France. The Treaty of Ghent restored all pre-war territorial boundaries and america was paid for the slaves freed over the course of the campaign

The war was NEVER about conquering america
We only lost about 2200 troops and the british only lost 1500 if conquest were the point the numbers would have been much higher and people would remember the story a little bit better. (american revolution anyone?)

Nobody "won" the war. It ended with nothing gained by either side. So, how's that Arrogant Worm soundtrack?

O.o, um, darlings, precisely what do you think would have happened if Britain had won?

Did you think American sailors were being impressed into service for fun?

I particularly like the "Assumption Song." Because you think they're gonna say dirty words but they don't. I laughed.

Yep.

Right now, I'm really liking "I am not American."

I believe they were fighting a war with the French at the time. They needed to men so the captains said that the people on the American ships were renegades and needed to be forced back into service. Though this was true some of the time it wasn't always.

What's that, Lassie? Bickering about a war that none of us were directly affected by is a waste of time? And it fell down a well??

crap I was going to let it go but now I can't

They wouldn't be using american sailors against american forces, then you're asking for problems like sabotage and murders on your own ships, they were being impressed for a war elsewhere.

Also wars don't have to be about conquering, we went to war with tripoli and their allies for demanding "protection money" but as I recall we won and didn't make it some satellite of our nation. Or even occupy it like another country we know of.

Sorry fast and butter, I'll be good now I PROMISE
